We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote community citizenship by empowering Nigerian women professionals in diaspora to become impactful leaders by forming strategic partnerships to tackle issues that confront women, girls and children in our society.

ANWEP, has positioned itself to fill a gap in service by serving victims fleeing domestic violence and homelessness. We have a unique opportunity to open a safe house and you can help! Your donations will assist victims in need of safety while transitioning to independence.

    Why should you sponsor?

By making a donation, your business would receive local recognition and advertising on our very visible, high traffic website and our Facebook page with thousands of members in North America and beyond.

    Ogechi Ugwulebo

Meet our Founder/President – Ogechi Ugwulebo

    Community Leadership

Ogechi is a community leader who is very passionate about giving back. She has served in several leadership positions in various organizations and is a great mentor to the young and upcoming Nigerian-American women leaders.

Prior to moving to Texas, Ogechi served as Vice President for two consecutive terms at AUNN and was instrumental in moving the organization to national recognition. It was during her tenure that she created the Adopt-A-Family outreach program which identified families in need within the Northern Nevada community and organized fund raising events to benefit those families. Her fund raising efforts provided food shelter and much needed necessities to these families especially during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday seasons. Ogechi understands that giving is part of success. To give your time, your money, your talent, your knowledge, your service and yourself with passion is the key to the potent dynamic that empowers our own success. Takers might start out strong, but giving leaders finish in front, leaving value for everyone, especially themselves.

Education: Ogechi holds a bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Calabar in Nigeria, a second bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master of Science degree in Cyber-security from the University of Dallas, TX.

Personal Life: Ogechi is happily married with 4 teenage children and currently works as a Software Engineer with a local IT company, developing data-driven software applications for the healthcare industry.
