I am a 42 year old family oriented man married with two children. Been working at my job for 20years now. My goal is to educate people about breast cancer awareness. For the reason,
On November 12, 2003, I lost a very important member of my family to a very aggressive form of breast cancer, my Aunt
Rita. Her death was absolutely life-changing in more ways than one, both good and bad. In 2014, my cousin, Lawanda Stewart, at the age of 38 was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lawanda(affectionately known as “Boo Boo”) is now a breast cancer survivor whose resilient response to the disease inspired me to join the fight. Thus, the birth of my idea: “Rita’s Pink Carpet Gala”. I vow to take this disease more seriously, educate myself and others and to support the cause through awareness.
