About our event

The All American Tattoo Convention will allow the best tattoo artist in the world to showcase their talents on some of our bravest heroes, all while raising money for PTSD, veterans and families of soldiers.

Tattoos in the US armed forces have a long tradition. To the millions of Americans who have served either as active service personnel or reservists means there are countless inked active duty & war veterans. Many of these tattoos are a constant reminder that they once belonged to a particular military branch or to acknowledge their loyalty not only to their unit but also to their country. These tattoos show their feelings of camaraderie or even to mark the loss of someone close to them.

Tattoos and body art can often be a language of its own when words fail to serve. No one knows this better than troops home from war, often struggling to rejoin everyday life and relate to those who have no concept of what it's like on the front lines.

Tattoos give these veterans an outlet to express themselves and relate their experiences to civilian populations.

In the military however it is estimated that over 75% (up to 90% across combat arms) has at least 1 tattoo.  The number of tattooed US adults under the age of 40 is 47%, which is the target age for military personnel.  Since 2003 the term “tattoo” has been the most searched beauty term. The Fayetteville region has one of the highest “tattoo shop per square mile” ratios in the country. 
  • Marketing Efforts and Reach:
    • Title Sponsor will have a large presence on everything, banners, billboards, entrances etc.
    • Highly optimized website on all major search engines. 
    • Email campaigns sent out to all local media outlets as well as those media outlets email lists.
    • Listings on all major convention websites.
    • Lamar Billboards will be posted on heavily trafic roads and highway I-95 for 6 months in advance of the convention.
    • Billboards in NC and SC malls 12 months before convention. (already started)
    • Press releases bi-monthly 12 months before (already started)
    • The MWR (Moral, Welfare & Recreation) for Ft Bragg as well as all surrounding bases will be notified and will list this convention as a sanctioned event for all military personnel.
    • Our street team will distribute over 300,000 flyers for 12 months in advance of the convention in the Fayetteville area.
    • We will personally reach out to every tattoo shop within a 500 mile radius of Fayetteville NC as well as targeted shops throughout the US. Including a special social media campaign geared towards veteran tattoo artists.

William Ryan Harrell is an award winning marketing consultant for several marketing firms, and an active entrepreneur. In the last 15 years Ryan has built and sold 3 award winning marketing firms. Ryan was named one of the 40 under 40 in southeastern NC and is on the board of advisers for FTCC's Small Business Center & Advertising and Graphic Design departments. Ryan donates time and resources to multiple organizations throughout the year. He was also one of the first members of the Fayetteville Young Professionals.
