  • About the event

    AFRiCA FESTIVAL

The association "Bafid e.V." (Batswana and Friends in the Diaspora e.V.) is involved in intercultural community contact when mediating between cultures. We work to help migrants settle (help with their integration efforts) in the Ruhrgebiet area in Germany.

We work with migrants and refugees from different countries and help them with their daily challenges, administrative affairs as well as Physical and mental health issues. In this work, we function as a bridge between two worlds, two cultures, and two points of view. We embrace this exchange and the meeting of people of different geographical, religious, or social origins. To promote this, we are hosting the "Africa Festival" in our town of Witten this year.

The founders of this NGO have their origin in Botswana, which is located in Southern Africa. But, in order to represent our diverse work with migrants from all over Africa, we are planning this Festival to represent all four cardinal points (NSWE) of the African continent, in the form of information stands, workshops, musical experiences, and culinary delights. A varied program will be offered with, among other things: Dance, drumming, and crafting activities for young and old; Music acts, and Talk-rounds. Apart from the entertainment character of the project, it is a special concern for us to enable an exchange of information in the form of lectures, dialogue rounds, and workshops on topics such as: „Education of children with a migration background in the diaspora“, „The role of the first generation diaspora in Germany“, „Identity problems and how to deal with them“, and „How does integration work successfully“.

The NGO has partner projects in Africa. They are Schools, Daycare-houses, and Orphanages that we support with our funds. It's important for us to share education on the European continent so that we are able to donate for, and enable, education in Africa. Education is a human right. Nevertheless, not every child on Earth has the privilege to have access to education. Education shouldn't be a privilege. We want to make a little step with our efforts, to help close this gap. A little step in humanity, but a huge step for the future of a Child.

    Why should you sponsor?

    Why do #CharitySponsoring?

According to a recent study, 72% of consumers positively view brands that provide quality event experiences and 74% of respondents admit that engaging with brands that create memorable moments makes them much more likely to buy their product.

One can definitely gain credibility and respect by providing good quality engaging content around relevant events.

Direct access to your target market. If you carefully chose the right event you can be sure that sponsorship will bring your target audience directly to you.

Lead generation. People who attend events with which sponsors are connected are more open to new services and products which can be a great opportunity for the brand to present its latest inventions and collect new contacts.

Sales. The target audience is much more likely to be converted into customers, especially if the personalized approach is used.

Building a reputation. Sponsoring an event is a good way to demonstrate expertise in a certain field and build a brand reputation.

Increased visibility. Event sponsorship enables businesses and organizations to receive more media coverage. With a sponsorship, a sponsor gets access to a new target group.

Community. #Charitysponsorship is a great way to show social responsibility. Apart from business advantages, a sponsorship can increase the image value of a specific target group.

For this event, we have already secured a partial sponsorship from the local government's "Demokratie Leben" office. Our concept has been approved and confirmed by them. And we are happy to have been able to bring over our mission to such an official party.
