About the event
A NIGHT OVER SOUTH (ANOS) is a one of a kind concert series, set in South Minneapolis, with a focus on both emerging and seasoned local talent, giving them a platform to expose their art. Founded and curated by Antoine “TWAIN” Perkins and now in its 2nd year, ANOS seeks to become a landmark event to discover music on a local (and regional) level. In 2016 ANOS was held at Fallout Urban Art Center, TWAIN and his special guest Jay Jeminii, complete with a live band featuring Kelz, Wonton, Attallah, and Angie Citlali played to a crowd of 65-70 concertgoers with their hip-hop, R&B, soul, and jazz stylings. The event also doubled as a food drive, donating food to Fallout’s community kitchen and food shelf.
We are currently in the planning stage for the 2017 concert. Returning to Fallout Urban Art Center, the event will be held Saturday evening, August 26, 2017 and will be headlined by TWAIN, with special guests Ria Olson Jazz Trio and Subtle Onset. Once again, the concert will accept non-perishable food items from talent, staff, and attendees for a food drive. We are very excited this year to introduce the special opportunity for local businesses and organizations to participate with us as event sponsors.

We want to expand the reach for ANOS and make the concert series a staple in the Twin Cities community for artistry and musicianship, charity, and a destination for things to do. Our success in an evolving music industry climate is dependent upon private investment and sponsorship. Antoine PerkinsTWAIN is a hip-hop recording artist from Chicago, by way of Minneapolis. A seasoned music maker, songwriter and lyricist, his sound strikes a balance of timeless and contemporary hip-hop energy, autobiographic tales, and wordplay purists can appreciate.
Recently he's released twin EPs: In 2014, THE COST OF LIVING(Ill County) & its acclaimed documentary, followed by THE GIFT OF DISCOVERY in 2016. Some of his live performances to date include the Fine Line Music Café, the historic Capri Theater, and the Minnesota Music Café. A Twin Cities Hip Hop Award nominee & 96.3 B96 Homegrown Featured Artist, he founded and curated the A NIGHT OVER SOUTH concert series.
