About the event

EYE UK are delighted to host the 41st European Young Engineers conference in Bristol, UK this June. We are billing the conference as "EYE@Bristol", with the theme "Ideas are International".

EYE brings together young engineers and engineering students from across Europe to share ideas, their experience, and their unique national business cultures. Delegates leave each conference with a better understanding of life as an engineer in the host country, as well as new perspectives on their careers and what they want to do with their lives. EYE is also a great place to build an international network of colleagues that helps ambitious young engineers make their next academic or career move.

Despite the UK's choice to leave the European Union, it is clear that engineering and engineers make a significant contribution to modern life, and even now there is a shortage of young talent entering the workforce in many engineering disciplines. This is unlikely to change in the near future, meaning the UK and Europe's prosperity will still depend on young engineers making international career moves. While the process may differ in the future, the UK needs European engineers as much as the rest of Europe need's the UK's engineers.

Sponsoring EYE@Bristol offers you the chance to make your brand known as a supporter of young engineers, in particular those who are open to travelling for work and study. You'll have access not only to the nearly one hundred conference delegates but also the rest of the EYE community, which has a reach of over 100,000 young engineers through its member associations. EYE's twenty member associations represent fourteen European nations (including the UK) meaning you can reach young talent from across the continent. There will be ample opportunities to interact directly with the delegates during the conference and promote any products, opportunities or services you might want to offer.

We are particularly keen to partner with companies that have an international footprint and are able to offer delegates opportunities across Europe and the rest of the world. Bristol is a city with a rich industrial heritage and is part of one of the UK's biggest hi-tech clusters, and will provide an inspiring backdrop for what will be an excellent weekend of engineering and personal development.

As an innately international discipline engineers are in high demand across the world, and the quality of education in the UK makes graduates highly sought after. Likewise, the UK needs the best engineering talent from many other countries to remain a world leader in innovation. By encouraging engineers to get involved in EYE we broaden their horizons and offer the chance to develop their networking and communications skills as well as develop the cultural intelligence required to be a global engineering leader. Exposure to the UK's leading industries and employers will also help attract talented, global-minded engineers from Europe and further afield.

EYE UK is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and is overseen by a committee of volunteers from various disciplines and backgrounds.
