    Why should you sponsor?

An enormous amount of American troops each year are deployed around the world in support of our nations interest and defending our freedom. Boots For Troops focuses it’s fundraising on helping the moral and welfare of those troops while they are deployed or soon after they return home. We build completely customized care packages tailored to each individual, always including our staple, a new pair of boots. Not combat boots or uniform boots, but personal boots that they would enjoy wearing in every day life. Boots from brands such as Justin, Ariat, Tony Lama, Timberland, Polo and more.

The Boots For Troops team is made up of passionate individuals who are dedicated to giving back and helping to uplift our active duty military. Although, the main attraction of our packages are the new boots, we also send other morale building products and gifts to help raise the spirts of our troops deployed or returning home from deployment. Military members eligible for Boots for Troops packages are any active duty member currently deployed or that has been deployed in the past 90 days. Returning home from a deployment is a significant morale builder itself. Boots for Troops packages are just the icing on the cake. A way to say thank you to our armed forces for their hard work and dedication to defending our way of life, and to remind them that their nation is proud of them and grateful for what they do. Packages include dinning gift cards, shopping gift cards, vacation packages and more.

    Boots For Troops

In 2014, BFT founders Jimmy Rogers and his wife Lindsey came up with the idea of Boots for Troops while Jimmy was serving in the United States Navy stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.  Jimmy was in his last year of service, but was very passionate about staying connected to the armed forces after separation and giving back to the men and women that had served before him, the ones he served with and the ones who would serve after him.

After numerous compliments of his boots by other service members, He was motivated to share his love for boots to those in the service. Jimmy realized a lot of sailors were not as fortunate as himself to be able to own a nice pair of personal boots.  Furthermore, he also noticed that members from areas of the country not familiar with cowboy or western style boots, loved his boots and they frequently asked him where they could get a pair themselves.

One day while spending some time in thought, the idea of Boots for Troops came to Jimmy.  He shared the idea with his wife Lindsey who loved it.  From his experiences of being deployed Jimmy understands the hardships and challenges deployments present.  Jimmy strongly felt he can make a difference in the moral and welfare of deployed military members.

During his 2015 deployment Jimmy decided he didn’t want to wait any longer to launch Boots For Troops. On that ship he worked vigorously, through e-mail and using the minimal resources available to him, to form his own non-profit organization called Boots For Troops.  His vision for Boots For Troops was to uplift and empower the overall morale and mental well being of our deployed service men and women.  With a bit of help stateside from his wife, he secured his Certificate of Formation by the state of Texas on June 3rd 2015, and soon after received its 501c(3) status from the IRS as a tax-exempt organization.
