About the event
The HOBY leadership seminar is a dynamic, hands-on program designed to inspire and develop youth from diverse backgrounds to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.
HOBY has been empowering young leaders for 60 years. HOBY unlocks hidden leadership potential in nearly every student and inspires them lead in their schools and communities. HOBY offers students interactions with community leaders and also with a diverse group of teens. Students participate with our engaging speakers, practical training and complete community service activities, all to instill personal confidence and inspire students to create positive change in their schools and communities.
Why should you sponsor?
Your sponsorship funds help to pay the school registration fee and/or the direct costs of hosting students on campus for three days, two nights and six meals. Local Los Angeles high schools select student attendees and there is usually no cost to the student to attend. Your donation will especially help schools from diverse socioeconomic areas of Los Angeles who may not otherwise have the chance to send a student to our leadership seminar.
Alessia ZontaMy name is Alessia, professionally, I work in Program Administration, but I am a passionate volunteer with the HOBY Los Angeles Leadership Seminar. I went through the HOBY program when I was in highschool and HOBY has without a doubt changed my life for the better. It opened my eyes to learn more about myself and find what I am truly passionate about. HOBY inspired me to give back to my community which led me to work for a non-profit connecting vulnerable communities with resources they need to succeed. This organization has given me so much personally and I have used it as a leader in my professional life as well. I have been volunteering with HOBY for the past 10 years and I hope to continue to spread the word about the amazing impact it has on young leaders of today.
