About the event

Happy Spring Festival is a large-scale cultural exchange jountly launched by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, relevant state ministries, cultural groups of oversea institutions abroad. The purpose is to share Chinese culture and to build a harmonious relationship with all peoples in the Chinese New Year. 

As a brilliant name card of overseas Chinese culutre, "Happy Spring Festival" has always been the subjuct of grest attention. 2019 "Happy Spring Festival" Chinese New Year Opera Gala will invite the quintessential Peking Opera and tradional Chinese Opera highlights. Both the modern and traditional opera fans can find their favorite songs and highlights.

We are Canada Chiense Opera Arts Centre, we would like to thank any of your supports and helps to build and share Chinese culture. All our seniors and Juniors artists are volunteering to the show. As well, we are inviting most famous Peking Opera professional artists from China to join the show. All donors are welcomed and appeciated. 

Rui Sun

Our tutor Yanyan Zhang, was Chinese Opera Professor. She started Chinese opera when she was 10 years old. She graduated from the top of Chinese Opera university with great marks. She was representitive of Chinese opera to visit and perform all over the world.

She immigrated to Canada in early 90's. With her great efforts on building and sharing Chinese culutre. She funded and organized Canada Chinese Opera Arts Centre. Now, all seniors and juniors class are all up and running well. They try their best to inherit Chinese culture and bring the most favorite shows to Toronto.
