1st USKU Asian Championship,

About the event

Shotokan Karate-Do Federation is proudly presenting the “1^st USKU Asian Championship 2017” under the guidance of Universal Shotokan Karate Union (USKU), Japan. As Karate is now included in Olympics 2020 Tokyo for the first time in the history of Olympics, the Japan Federation has a vision to promote Karate on a worldwide range. Hence to begin with, USKU has given the opportunity to our federation i.e. Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (SKF) to conduct 1^st Asian Championship.

The championship will be conducted under the guidance of Hanshi Kenichi Fukamizu:  JKF Councillor & USKU International Director

Hanshi Genku Sato: JKF permanent committee member & OGGS International Director

Japan Karate-do Federation is a national governing body of sport Karate in Japan. The JKF is officially affiliated with the Japan Olympic Association (JOC), World Karate Federation (WKF), Japan Sports Association (JSA) and Japanese Budo Association (JBA).

Chaitanya Sawant

Mr. Chaitanya Sawant is a National Player of India, who is a part of Martial Arts field for past 23 years. He left the national federation in the year 2008 to establish his own federation in India “Shotokan Karate-Do Federation”.  This became an affiliated member of Universal Shotokan Karate Union (USKU), Japan. At present he is also a member of Japan Karate Federation (JKF) - Japan which is a national governing body of sport karate in Japan. Apart from the above mentioned institute he is also a member of the following reputed institution.

• Kudo International Federation India
• Kickboxing association
• SQAY martial art association
• Kyusho International

His vision is to bring International standards of Karate in India and to make the players up to the International standards. Karate is now included in Olympics 2020 Tokyo for the first time in the history of Olympics. We would like to promote Karate as a sport through various tournaments on a larger scale and eventually create awareness.
