  • About the event

The Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo is a full day of exercise classes, nutrition workshops, health screenings, entertainment and fun for the entire family.  The Expo gives young people an opportunity to participate in over 20 sports clinics, health screenings and nutrition workshops which encourage children to choose healthier lifestyles.  Our activities include but are not limited to: gymnastics, basketball, football, soccer, baseball, fencing, archery, football, hula hoop, volleyball, tennis, golf, hip hop, zumba and much more.  These activities are taught by certified and/or licensed exercise and nutrition instructors.  In addition, there is a "Commitment to Kids" award ceremony, where a professional athlete is honored and presented with an award for his or her charitable contributions to children.

It is a requirement for each child attending the Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo to participate in 2 sports activities, a nutrition clinic and a health screening prior to receiving a goodie bag filled with product donations from our corporate and community partners.  By incentivizing the event, it will ensure that children not only experience activities they otherwise would not have been exposed to, but that they walk away with nutrition education that can benefit them for years to come.

    Why should you sponsor?

Brand Recognition: By sponsoring our event, the families who frequent the event will associate your brand with the event you’re sponsoring. Frequency breeds familiarity, and the more exposure you get, the more your brand will be liked.

Giving Back to the Community: Participating as a sponsor of our event is great because you get to establish goodwill and show the community that you’re a reliable partner that’s able and willing to support looking events.

Great Cause: Two-thirds of the children in New York City are either overweight or obese and according to the New England Journal of Medicine, chidren today, may not live as long as their parents because of obesity.  Your support means that you care enough to put your money behind a program that is doing something about this growing epidemic.  Your support will enable children, who would not ordinarily have a chance to learn various sports activities, to do so.

    Vincent Ferguson

Vincent Ferguson is a certified personal trainer, speaker and author of “Six Weeks to a Flatter Stomach” and “Get Ready, Get Set, Get Fit! A Guide to Developing Youth Fitness.”  Mr. Ferguson has appeared on various television and radio programs including ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America Health” and most recently on Fox TV’s “Good Day New York.” He has been involved in fitness for over 25 years.  His love for fitness began in the United States Navy, where he studied martial arts and kickboxing.  Immediately upon being discharged from the Navy, Mr. Ferguson began a bodybuilding career.  As a bodybuilder, he entered various competitions throughout the New York tri-state area.

Mr. Ferguson realized if physical fitness could have such a positive effect on his own body, mind, and well-being, then it could have similar effects on others, especially children. Consequently, in 1989, he founded and became president of Body Sculpt of New York, Inc., a Brooklyn based not-for-profit health and fitness organization.

Mr. Ferguson is also the creator and host of the “Six Weeks to Fitness” podcast, where he interviews fitness and nutrition experts, along with athletes, celebrities and movers and shakers from around the world to discuss the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The podcast is heard on iTunes and Stitcher radio.
