14th Annual Project Lifesaver Conference,

Orlando, Florida, United States Orlando, Florida, United States

  • About the event

Project Lifesaver International is a 501 (c) (3) community based, public safety, non-profit organization that created a program which is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition, such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia.

There are three key components utilized by the Project Lifesaver program which enable first responders to achieve the program’s mission of "bringing loved ones home"

    1. Cutting Edge Locating Technology
    2. Innovative Search & Rescue Methods
    3. Community Policing Courses.

The Annual Conference held by Project Lifesaver is an opportunity for existing and prospective members and clients to network and engage in discussions and presentations regarding topics surrounding the organization, such as technological advancements, cognitive condition studies & research, and advancements in the Project Lifesaver Program. Member agencies also utilize this event as an educational experience as we also provide training of the use of our locating equipment and additional Autism & Alzheimer's Community training to enable the first responders to have the tools and knowledge necessary to aid them in interacting with the special needs individuals in their communities, especially involving a search mission.

    Why should you sponsor?

The Project Lifesaver Annual Conference is an important event that enables networking among our international members, discussions regarding innovative ideas surrounding our "community" and crucial training for first responders involved with our lifesaving program. The more our community works together, and the more aware the public is of our program, the better able we all are to potentially save the lives of our vulnerable, special needs populations.

    Kyrianna Hoffses

My name is Kyrianna Hoffses, the Public Relations & Media Coordinator for Project Lifesaver International. I am one of the key persons organizing the event for our organization. There is no need to know who I am, but I think it is important for you to know what Project Lifesaver is about!

Project Lifesaver is a 501 (C)(3) community based, public safety, non-profit organization that provides law enforcement, fire/rescue, and caregivers with a program designed to protect, and when necessary, quickly locate individuals with cognitive disorders who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The organization was founded in 1999 in Chesapeake, Virginia. The necessity of this program was determined through the correlation between cognitive conditions and the act of wandering.  With the dramatic increase of cognitive conditions since the inception of the organization, the program has grown from a localized program to a program recognized internationally as a proven and effective method of “bringing loved ones home.”

Project Lifesaver was the first to apply such locating techniques to aid in the search and rescue of individuals, and is the most widely used and proven most effective program in the nation that is specifically designed to protect the “At Risk” populations in our communities. The program was structured in a way that strategically combined state of the art locating technologies, innovative search and rescue methods, and community policing courses that educated first responders about cognitive conditions. The search times for certified Project Lifesaver agencies have been reduced from hours, potentially days, down to minutes.  Recovery times for Project Lifesaver agencies average 30 minutes, which is 95% less time than standard operations without Project Lifesaver.
