FESTIVAL DIVERCITY 2021 - ESISTENZE,

Milano, Lombardia, Italy Milano, Lombardia, Italy

  • About the event

The DiverCity Festival was born in 2018 from the idea of its founder, Dr Andi Nganso, that the city should open itself to the cultural resources generated by the intersection of different identities.

The meeting is the fertile ground at the base of the event, a critical space where the arts, skills and people come together to reason, listen to each other and deepen the issues related to diversity, with a focus on the representations of Afro-descendants and BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color).

The added value of the DiverCity Festival lies in putting the direct experiences of the Afro-Italian community at the center.

The theme of the 2021 Edition of the festival arises from the need to urgently review the narrative processes in order to do justice to the evolution and demographic and cultural changes of Italy.

The urgency is to tell a country that exists and that deeply needs to be represented beyond the narrative limits of those who would like Afro-descendant communities relegated solely to stories of marginalization.

From 7 to 11 July 2021 at BASE in Milan the days of this year's Festival will take place, help us to put together the useful resources to be able to tell the horizons, objectives, perspectives of a community that needs more rights, more representation and to promote the culture of decolonization.

    Why should you sponsor?

To be an ally of the many communities of color and of African Descent in Italy and Europe
