About the event

This October, the first edition of a student-held hackathon, Version β will be hosted by Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. Our renowned institute is known for its diversity, scenic beauty and is, among the top ranked colleges in India, but unfortunately, the idea of Hackathon still remains a foreign concept. We aim to provide a platform for our participants where, they can nurture their true potential, inculcate innovative development and get an opportunity to interact with bright minds of the country.

Version β, is the brainchild of few unorthodox driven students of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology who wanted to move away from the realm of normal academic routine. Organizing a Hackathon, opens up new dimensions for the participants to create something extraordinary within a limited timespan. Maybe even, just 36 hours!

Our prime focus is to, blur the boundaries of imagination. Age is an issue of mind over matter. And hence, our event is open to one and all. We'll take care of the food and stay - virtually leaving you no excuse to build something that'll blow our minds.

Indian Society for Technical Education Student’s Chapter, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (ISTE MANIT) is one of the oldest and most prestigious student organizations of NIT Bhopal. Being awarded the Best Students' Chapter for two consecutive years, ISTE MANIT is one of the most illustrious chapters of ISTE. We aim to bring respite to the students from the monotonous classroom lectures, thereby providing a platform to facilitate healthy discussions and information exchange on technical education. The grandeur of Chimera, the flagship event of ISTE Student Chapter, MANIT, can simply be seen by the jaw-dropping footfall of over 13,000 participants across various events. After the successful conduction of yet another Chimera extravaganza, ISTE SC MANIT is back with a technical conclave for engineering enthusiasts across the state.
Version β marks the beginning of a new era of technology and rise of new technocrats in the Bhopal atmosphere. This new iteration by ISTE SC MANIT happens to be the first of its kind in Central India. Version β comes with its own satchel, of non-stop team events with a vision on teamwork and leadership, comprising of a 36-hour brainstorming Hackathon, wherein some of the brightest minds of the nation engineer innovation. But, before the participants are invited for this on-site coding marathon, an initial filtering of ideas will be done. This filtration process will be based on a contestant’s problem-solving ability and innovative thinking/practicality of idea based on the solutions provided by the participants to the problem statements released by the team and their GitHub record (GitHub Inc. is a web-based hosting service for version control using Git). After the success of Codathon: Inter NIT Coding Competition with a participation of over 3500+ students each year from all over the country, since its inception in 2017, Hackathon is destined to be the next big thing.
