The Trinity Free Clinic 5K Run for Wellness is a family-friendly community event with a USATF sanctioned course including chip timing. In addition to the 5K, we also have a variety of family entertainment that makes this an event that competitive runners and families alike frequent year after year. Last year we had registration of over 500, and including both spectators and participants, well over 650 people in attendance of the event. This sponsorship also would support an organization whose aim is to provide free medical and dental care to the most vulnerable families in Hamilton County.
The TFC5K is a fun community event for families and competitive runners alike that has shown steady growth over the past 15 years. Proceeds from the race provide free medical and dental care for the most vulnerable families in Hamilton County, allowing Trinity Free Clinic to be the medical safety net for struggling families.
Proceeds from the race directly fund general operations of Trinity Free Clinic to provide free medical and dental care for the most vulnerable families in Hamilton County. Because of our mostly volunteer staff and the generosity of community partners, we are able to provide nearly $2.50 in medical and dental services for every $1 donated to the clinic. In 2016 alone, we provided $1.4 million worth of services at no cost to patients or the community.
Sponsors will receive a variety of acknowledgement, depending upon sponsorship level. The race has a wide variety of marketing, including direct mail, email blast, social media and print ad buys, press releases, in-person promotion at Chambers of Commerce, ourtdoor banners and electronic signage, postings on local community calendars, posters distributed throughout the community, and more to ensure wide reach for the race marketing and sponsorship acknowledgement.
The Trinity Free Clinic started out in October 2000 as an outreach ministry of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church using the school nurse's office and library for the clinic. Soon after, Trinity Free Clinic was approved for non-profit status and is a separate 501(c)3 organization. Today, Trinity Free Clinic functions as the healthcare safety net for Hamilton County by providing fee immediate medical and dental care for the most vulnerable families in our county when they have nowhere else to turn. In addition, we complement these services with a wide range of specialized services that allows us to make sure that patients are able to leave the clinic with the resources and care that will allow them to return to work or school. Our patients can now receive services for pediatrics, vaccinations, vision care and glasses, women's health, podiatry, asthma, hypertension, physical therapy, as well as receiving prescription medications, lab work, access to social services and healthcare navigators. It is our goal to meet patients where they are and help them find a path to wellness that extend beyond the care we provide for them.
Although we were started by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, we are delighted to welcome all in need. Last year, we have served patients from over 80 countries and from every faith. In our 17 year history, we have served over 22,000 patients, and are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving every day.
