  • About the event

The Great Arizona Code Challenge is a 36-hour coding competition for all kids grades 3-12! It's an opportunity for some of the best young programmers from all over the state to come and hone their skills in an effort to create the coolest apps and games possible!

No coding experience? No Problem! There will be classes and mentors to help coders of all skill levels, plus workshops about the fun things that are possible when you know computer programming. Also, food. Lots of good food. And t-shirts.

After the coding is over, all the kids will have a chance to present their project to their peers in a "show and tell" session. Expert judges will choose winning teams and award awesome prizes at the closing ceremony, open to families and the general public on Saturday evening (family members need to reserve seats for the closing reception, but the coders are covered under their registration).

If you're undecided and need some convincing, or if you have any questions, please contact Alicia Holmes at *****@****.*** and I'll do my best to get you excited!

    Why should you sponsor?

The inaugural event in 2015 was the second largest hackathon in Arizona's history, with 120 kids and well over 400 people at the closing ceremony. Last year, we doubled those numbers with 250 kids and over 650 people in attendance at the closing ceremony. Official marketing just launched, but already over 100 kids have registered for this year's event. We expect to hit capacity with 350 kids participating and hundreds more people joining for the closing ceremony! Not only does sponsoring this event contribute to the growing excitement about the possibilities of coding for young minds, but it's also an amazing opportunity to break-out into the community and gain exposure.

The MIT Enterprise Forum of Phoenix is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting technoligcal innovation and entrepreneurism in Arizona. This is our 3rd hackathon and we're continuing to grow! Every year, the event gets bigger, and more and more kids are discovering the benefits of knowing how to code. We hope that you'll consider becoming apart of this new culture developing in Arizona.
