The Exhale Expo,

Gorse Hill Studios, Stretford, England, United Kingdom Gorse Hill Studios, Stretford, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

Exhale is a large showcase to encourage people to talk openly about mental health! We provide a large venue full of speakers, exhibitors, workshops and live music. Exhale is family-friendly and completely free to the public. Nobody should be charged to talk about mental health!

We want to highlight how talking about mental health doesn't have to be scary. We want to show people that there are different ways to cope with different forms of mental health. Most importantly, we are building a community of people who share similar experiences and truly mean it when they say, "I know how you feel."

Our last even saw over 300 registered attendees. We had eight amazing speakers including Hope Virgo (published author), Sandy Docherty from the Great British Bake Off and Lauren Barclay founder of Youth Mental Health Matters. Our activities included yoga, EFT-Tapping, breathing workshop, music therapy, SmartyPilates for kids, drama for kids, mindfulness art and The Unicorn Club. Our last event saw donations from PG Tips, Rude Health, The Food Doctor and Emily Crisps. We also had live music from Nishla Smith Trio and Ellie McCracken.

Our next Exhale Event is going to be even bigger! On the 6th of July we have two schools coming in for the entire day to watch a theatre performance, take part in activities and listen to talks. This day isn't just for the students but we will be talking to teachers and parents as well, helping them deal with mental health difficulties as well as care for children who do.

On the 7th of July, Exhale will once again be open to the general public! Our free event will have speakers including a popular Youtuber, radio presenter, author and mental health clothing company. We already expect 1000+ attendees!

Check out some reviews from our last event:

"What a fantastic day!!! The event was very well organised. I felt welcomed upon my arrival by the friendly folk managing the day. The day proved to be perfect for taking time out from busy life to stop and really think about mental health. I loved the breathing and goal setting workshops. I had a great chat with the trigger press peeps and got a book I'm enjoying reading. The unicorn party was absolutely fabulous!!!. Molly and Alex Carling were both inspirational speakers, what they said was honest, accessible and thought-provoking. Can't wait for the next Exhale Event!!!!" - Adele Clough

"Thank you so much for a fantastic day. What an achievement! We learned loads, made new connections and have gone away inspired to make positive changes in our own lives and keep raising awareness about mental health" - Jayne Gosnall

"An emotional but amazing day in Manchester for the @ExhaleEvent. Thanks @MollyDaphne for organising such a brilliant event with many inspirational speakers talking about mental health." - Stephanie Rogers

    Why should you sponsor?

Keeping this event free means making mental health support accessible to everyone.

Exhale is building a community of people of all ages to build support networks as well as talk and learn about mental health.

We all have mental health and yet we don't do as much as we should to help those who struggle with it. By sponsoring this event, you are helping people of all ages get access to support, make friends, learn more about their minds and feel comfortable to talk about what they're going through.

This event is also charitable. Our refreshments are all donated by large companies. Our attendees donate money whenever they take a coffee, tea or snack from the bar and all this money goes to charity. By sponsoring this event, you are helping us donate large chunks of money to a charity that helps youths with their mental health.

Also, by showing your support for a mental health event, you are helping shatter the stigma around mental health! One of Exhale's aims is to tackle mental health in the workplace. By sponsoring this event, your company is showing that you support and want to help improve mental health in the work place.

    Molly Arnold

    I'm Molly.

I grew up with bad mental health issues. I struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, paranoia and eating difficulties. I stopped going to school. I tried to commit suicide, but luckily for me, I had a great support network.

As I got older, I turned my difficulties into my passion and started Exhale. Sadly, not everyone has the same support network as I did and so I started Exhale to combat this and help people get a support network and make friends.

I have a goal to run 8 Exhale events a year - four for the public and four for schools.

Mental health issues regularly start while a child is at school and due to the lack of information and support for mental health in schools, children aren't getting the help they need. Sadly, this is part down to government funding but also down to teachers and carers not knowing how they can help or maybe struggling with their own mental health. Exhale wants to tackle that! We want to run these events for schools where both the students and teachers benefit from mental health education.
