The Cake Night Show,

New York, New York, United States New York, New York, United States

  • About the event

The Cake Night show is a fully scripted variety show hosted by Sweaty Eddie and produced by Erma Fiend (Sweaty Eddie), Mikey Delgado(Richard), Sam Demonte (Muscles Monty), and Senerio. It is unlike any digital show you’ve seen before, so don’t expect to see the usual lip syncing! The show brings a unique visual aspect to it with stop motion animation and VFX’s.

We are currently in production of the second installment of our live streamed show, The Cake Night Show. On October 28, 2020, the Cake Boys will premiere The Cake Night Show 2: Curse of the Cake Boys, a fully conceptualized drag show tributing all things horror (with comedic and possibly educational twists) hosted by drag king Sweaty Eddie. Just in time for Halloween!

    Why should you sponsor?

This is where we will need your help! While much of the costs are derived out of pocket by myself and fellow producers, we are seeking to fundraise to assist in paying our performers a reasonable, worthwhile wage for their time and participation in the project. This would not only be an investment to individual performers, but to the queer community of performers who seek to further their creativity without being stifled by monetary matters.

As an industry leader, would you consider donating? Our goal is $2,000 so that we can adequately pay performers and acquire items necessary for production such as lighting, microphones, PPE, and general props. We understand that at this unequivocal time, budgets are limited so if you are interested in donating items to be raffled off during the show, we would greatly appreciate this offer as well.

    Cake Boys

.By way of introduction, my name is Mikey Delgado and I am a co-founder and co-producer of the Cake Boys, a drag king collective based in NYC. With the dawn of RuPaul's Drag Race, drag queens have become a part of mainstream culture; they're in commercials, on reality shows, on the news, parade floats, and featured speakers on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community. But with this emergence and acceptance of drag queens in mainstream media, drag kings and non-binary drag performers have become overlooked. After years of feeling underrepresented and marginalized in spaces dominated by drag queens, I joined together with some of my fellow performers to create a space that uplifts and inspires drag kings and performers.
