About the event
The Annual Fall Banquet will be held on November 11 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. This fundraising dinner and silent auction has been held for the past seven years with steady attendance.
WHY THIS EVENT? :: This event is a great match for sponsors committed to projects that work with youth, specifically immigrant and refugee families, and who care about training youth in practical skills, specifically through farming/gardening as well as through coffee-roasting enterprises. The event is held in the beautiful Dows Ballroom at Buena Vista University on the shore of Storm Lake.
MISSION :: The Bridge is a Christian nonprofit dedicated "to caring and advocating for youth in vulnerable places of life by meeting them where they are, building a supportive community there ,and providing training toward a more hope-filled future."
MORE INFO :: Storm Lake, IA is a small and diverse city where over 30 languages are spoken by peope from around the globe. The Bridge works directly with Storm Lake youth through weekly activities, Bible studies, and gatherings. Specifically, The Bridge provides two areas of training, called its enterprises: the Cultivate Training Garden and its Endless Sea Coffee Roasting enterprises. In Cultivate, young people learn agricultural-related skills on 10 acres of land and run a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. Through Endless Sea, the youth learn the basics of coffee-roasting, marketing, and business. The Bridge also has Neighborhood Centers in which its team members move into specific neighborhoods to build relationships and supportive community for young people.

Anne DahlhauserI am Anne Dahlhauser. My husband and I founded The Bridge over seven years ago. We live and work in Storm Lake, IA with our family of five kids. My husband's background is Agricultural Engineering and mine is language teaching, but we've dedicated our lives to this place, this work, and these young people here. We believe God's led us to this and will sustain The Bridge, hopefully through committed financial partners like you.
