About the event

It all started last year, when Elevated Action Sports brought the first motoclimb race to Northern Nevada in half a century, the Silver State Motoclimb. The Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks hosted this event, and we couldn’t have asked for a better facility. Riders from 5 years old to 60 hit the sweeping rocky hill, everything from a PW50 to custom 200 hp CBR1000’s race bikes tried to make it over faster than their competitors. The number one and two racers in the country, Logan Mead and Joe Shipman, put on a show and battled it outfor the King of the Hill trophy. It was a fun event and everyone was talking about the next year’s race before the day was done.

  Fast forward to 2017, and Elevated Action Sports is raising the level of the event to attract a more diverse group of riders. So in addition to the 2nd Annual Silver State Motoclimb, the event will feature several new and exciting events.

•The Wild West Hard Enduro, America’s newest hard enduro, will offer fans a unique perspective into the race, seeing all the action from the bleachers in the amphitheater-type racecourse.

•The LivFast FMX team will put on a couple freestyle motocross demos, pushing the limits to entertain the crowd in-between races.

•Whip Contest for which proceeds will go to a local charity.

•Live music after Saturday’s races from some great local talent, including from hip-hop start Feeki!

  In addition to all of this non-stop action, Roadshow Productions is hosting the Street Vibrations Spring Rally the same weekend in Downtown Reno! This motorcycle rally covers the strip and attracts thousands of street riders from all over the country. We hooked up with Roadshows to spread the word at both of each other’s events, so we are expecting riders from Downtown Reno to come check out the moto festival, and we’re encouraging our attendees to check out the party down there after the racing is over!

  We have partnered with Reno Tahoe USA this year to add the Battle Born Moto Festival to their repertoire of world-class events in this incredible region. Because of their support, we are maximizing our advertising capabilities leading up to this event, mainly through regional radio, action sports podcasts, local billboards, YouTube, Instagram, and heavily on Facebook.

  The goal of the festival is to showcase some of the most extreme forms of moto in a single event, at one of the best motorsports venues in the West. Both the riders and spectators can enjoy two days of extreme racing, demos, and live music in one of the most unique events in the country!

The Battle Born Moto Festival is coming to Northern Nevada at the perfect time. With motocross tracks closing and the local economy booming, the heavy population of offroad enthusiasts in the area are begging for new events and venues to see motorsports action. In addition, festivals are all the craze among the music world, and have dominated the live music scene as the main avenue of brand and artist exposure. We are taking the music festival concept to instead showcase and celebrate different forms of extreme moto in a single weekend. Throw in music artists that are involved in motorsports, and a wide variety of athletes attending to compete, it reaches a strong demographic in a region that is centered around the outdoors. This event has potential to scale in years to come, and with a venue with endless opportunities, this weekend long event can turn into a weeklong event in the future.

Matt Musgrove

My name is Matt Musgrove, and I am the owner of Elevated Action Sports, a growing media and event company that is for the progression of athletes. After completing business school at Cal State East Bay, I worked full time as a metal fabricator and welder for several years, while running this business simultaneously. This past December, I ended up quitting my fabrication job to pursue the growth of this business, and put more focus in the quality of our events and media content.

We have hosted three motorsports race events in the past couple years; The 2015 Golden State National presented by Rockwell Watches in the SF Bay Area, the 2016 Silver State Motoclimb in Reno, and the 2016 IRC Tire Carnegie Classic in the SF Bay Area. In addition to live events, we focus on online media and digital content. I am the producer of the first web series in motoclimb history, "Superfly," and currently growing a respectable social media presence (IG: 20k+ followers combined, FB: 2500k+ followers, YouTube: 100+ subscribers). This year, we are following races around the US and attending a race in Europe, to document and build off the popular "Superfly" series. We are also hosting the 2nd Annual IRC Tire Carnegie Classic this October 7-8th.
