  • About the event

TeenHacks Civic High School Hackathon 2018

Teen Hacks is a 100 to 200-person high school civic hackathon that will gather the teen innovators of tomorrow and make their ideas for a better community a reality.

TeenHacks is a high school hackathon for teens by teens. Every year Shooting stars foundation conducts education boot camps and raises money for education of students in third world countries. This Hackathon will raise funds for this scholarship program. We're hacking for a cause.

You could participate at the event and inspire teens about civic hacking and some of the problems they can help solve. You could consider sending mentors/speakers for the event and sponsoring one of the below areas for the event.

    Why should you sponsor?

We’re beginning to offer limited sponsorship opportunities for companies we think would be a good fit for our audience. We are looking for Saas sponsors, open data services, sponsors for food, swag, prizes or workshops for the event. We have a sponsorship packages below on how you could contribute and support this hackathon. You could also donate to the event and help us raise funds for education for students in third world countries.

Sponsorships can vary from large company contributions to prize donations

    - Experimentation: At TeenHacks, you can stress-test your APIs and products to their limits. At TeenHacks your product will be in front of hundreds of eager, intelligent students who will test your software to the extremes in creative and diverse ways. Students will build, learn, use, discuss, develop, and innovate on any technology they can get their hands on during the hackathon.

    - Inspiration: Every student remembers their first hackathon. As a sponsor of TeenHacks, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a new generation of creative thinkers and engineers, and bring computer science education to a diverse group of talented people.

    - Recognition: At TeenHacks, you can put your product and brand in front of hundreds of receptive, enthusiastic high schoolers. Get a chance to mentor future innovators and builders, and market your product at the same time.

    - Hiring: As a sponsor, you get access to the talent- students every recruiter dreams of. Young adults whose passion and curiousity run deeply and honestly, and extend far beyond the warped pageantry of a CV

    - Better than an interview. Sponsors get to watch students in their natural habitat. Sponsors often send mentors to the event, who provide feedback and guidance to teams while they work. Mentors watch students creating, planning, coding and debugging in a casual team environment. You’ll learn how different students deal with stress, disagreement, and approaching deadlines.

Encourage the next generation- If you are unable to sponsor a hackathon, come and reach out to one students and offer to answer questions and provide mentorship.
