  • About the event

    With the need for nurses globally our event is about raising funds to help inspire, empower and develop a global community of future nurses. We are on a mission to raise $100,000 to support nursing students in the United States and across the nation. 

    Our funds will be utilized for the following purpose:

    1. To provide scholarships for students

    2. To provide economic and career development for women with children experiencing homelessness by pursing a career in nursing 

    3. To initiate the Nurses Pub Resource Center in an underserved community for nursing students with children

    4. To continue the global outreach for attracting students to the nursing profession

    Mona Clayton

    An inspirational speaker, author, mentor and transformational coach for nurses and students, Mona has been featured in

     “Black Enterprise Magazine,” “Working Nurse Magazine,” “The Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper,”  “Los Angeles Wave Newspaper,” “Our Weekly Newspaper,” “Minority Nurse Magazine,” “The University of Phoenix Buzz, ”Grand Canyon University Today” and the University of Phoenix Center for Health and Nursing Research Magazine. 

    Mona Clayton, MSN, RN is the CEO and Founder of  The Nurses Pub Non-Profit Organization, Nurses 2 Rock Pub and  the author of "From Student to Nurse-Surviving the Journey As Painlessly As Possible.” 

    Her book reached national distribution throughout Barnes & Noble Booksellers with over 1000 copies sold.

    Mona's passion for helping single mothers prompted her desire to develop programs useful to build future nurses; in particular single mothers from underserved communities.

    In 2014, she began the outreach campaign, the (#future100K), aiming to recruit 100,000 single mothers to the profession of nursing. The campaign has expanded from passionate students and single mothers living in the U.S. to students in Africa, Asia and most recently the Philippines. 

    Nurse Mona’s achievements for working to build the nursing community are:   

    Recipient of Nurse of the Year for Los Angeles County Healthcare System; Mayor's Recognition Award; Mayor'sCommendation Recognition Award; National "Super Phoenix" for University of Phoenix; Finalist for the Health Care Leadership Award by the "Los Angeles Business Journal,” Distinguished Alumni Award for University of Phoenix Southern California (Selected 1 of 12 out of 92,000) alumni in 2017 and in 2018, nominated for the Leadership ImpactAward, the (Top 3) alumni from University of Phoenix Southern California.

    Receiving her Associate of Science in nursing degree from Southwest College, her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from the University of Phoenix and completed her Master’s degree in Nursing Education at Grand Canyon University, Mona has served as a registered nurse for over 23 years and has experience in the following  capacities: 

    Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Intensive Care, Labor and Delivery, Urgent Care, Home Based Telephonic Nursing and On-line educator and has worked as a travel nurse for numerous hospitals across the country.

    Nurse Mona's future goals are to become a global spokesperson for recruiting future nurses throughout Asia, Africa and the USA and to pursue a life long goal of becoming  a talk show host.     

    Mona has one daughter and enjoys blogging, traveling, shopping and  fine dining as well as serving the homeless community with her church.
