About the event

July 9th-15th 2018 we organize an international urban art festival called SPRAYCANKONTROL / MEETING OF STYLES FINLAND.

Our festival is locally very well noticed and one of a kind here in Finland. Around 50 interesting and talented artists are invited to this year's event from which around 10 are known international artists. The festival lasts for one week during which all the artists will paint their beautiful pieces of art, covering thousands of square meters of the old factor walls.

Like last year, also this year, our festival is organized together with the internationally recognized street art event, Meeting Of Styles. The MOS organization has held festivals around the world since 2002. Cooperation with the MOS brings wide global visibility and attracts interest among the famous international artists and their followers. Our association acts as the local organizer of MOS in Finland!  

Our festival is free of charge for the whole week including the graffiti workshops we organize for kids and people of all ages. Saturday, the main day, will see some outdoor concerts from well known and up-coming talented Finnish artists. 

Last year our event had more than 8000 visitors from which more than 4000 during Saturday. This doupled our expectations and for this year we are expecting an increase in visitors according to the positive feed back and the hype in the social and local media. The length of the festival allows very well +10 000 visitors. Also the cooperation with famous international artists and Meeting Of Styles organization will increase the amount of visitors from nearby countries. The event is organized in cooperation with the city of Tampere.

Thanks to our events the old factory area of Hiedanranta has come from a very rough outlook to a one of a kind street art gallery consisting of hundreads of pieces covering 6000 to 7000 square meters of interesting and colorful art.

We are a small association put together by artists and working with a lot of motivation and effort to improve the urban art scene locally and globally.
Anyhow we need sponsors to support our event to be able to cover the costs of organizing the festival, the travel expenses of the invited artists and their rewards.

Our weeklong festival attracts people of all kinds and ages which makes it a perfect place for your organization to reach new customers and audience.

Last year our event's Facebook campaign reached more than 20 000 users according to the statistics. The event posters and flyers were spread all over Tampere city for thousands to see and a virtual poster run in the screens of local buses. The event itself collected around 10 000 visitors during the week and In addition local news papers covered the event well. This year we are putting five times more budget and effort in marketing to reach even wider audience locally and globally.

SPRAYCANKONTROL Ry is a humble artist run street art association based in Tampere, Finland.

Our team consists of 10 to 15 talented and enthusiastic artists of various ages, who love graffiti and street art. At the moment our association and event organizing is run 100% volunteerly. Individually we work on various fields of arts including murals, canvases, sculpting, graphic design, technical drawing, product design, work shops, cultural event organizing, music etc. 

Our main goal is to bring more colors to the streets and make art available to everyone. In addition we aim to improve the state of urban art and artists locally and globally. We want to give opportunities to talented artists to come and paint in our events and showcase their art in the exhibitions we organize. Yearly we organize big and small street art events, exhibitions and workshops.

We are working on opening our own gallery and shared work space right next to our event venue. This allows us to give painting workshops through out the year as well as offer cheap or even free work space for artists in need. On the other hand the gallery will serve as a monthly exhibition space for well known and up-coming local and international artists.
