South Asian Youth Initiative - 2023 Conference,

New Haven, Connecticut, United States New Haven, Connecticut, United States

  • About the event

SAYI (formerly known as the South Asian Millennials Conference) is a national, student-led conference with the mission to build community and platform for activism and discussion for South Asian and South Asian-American college students. This year, SAYI will be hosted by Yale University and several other colleges throughout the United States to expand representation of South Asians and further critical conversations about identity, diaspora, and community.

This year, we are hoping to have an in-person event, the theme of which will be “Shaping the Modern Diaspora.” This conference will see the organization of a multitude of workshops, panel discussions, mentorship activities, and speaker series.

SAYI 2023 will welcome over 500 students in-person across the country during the weekend of February 11-12th at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

    Why should you sponsor?

Currently, there aren't many spaces for students and the younger generation to come together and discuss issues that pertain to their population. SAYI aims to empower and mentor the next set of leaders and activists, especially within the South Asian community. The SAYI conference is a one of a kind initiative that brings together students from all backgrounds and cultures in order to discuss political and social issues that relate to the diaspora in the US and abroad. By becoming a sponsor, you will be helping to foster a socially aware and empowered South Asian community.

As the conference will include extensive programming, we believe that sponsors will benefit from this event considering its scope and size. Moreover, the conference also represents a unique opportunity for sponsors to engage with the college population, which many times goes untargeted.
