About the event

The Silverlake Flea Market (held once a month on Every Second Saturday beginning Saturday, Feb 11, 2017) is located on the playground of the Micheltorena street Elementary School in Silverlake, CA 90026. The Free Entrance is located at 1511 Micheltorena LA CA 90026. Some of LA's best independent vendors of Handmade, Vintage, Home Furnishings, Home Decor, Crafts, Art, Antiques and Collectibles are on site selling their merchandise Every Second Saturday from 12pm-5pm.

Voted locally as some of the best shopping in Los Angeles and conveniently located close to the Sunset Junction and the Silverlake Farmers Market. The Silverlake Flea has been compared to the infamous Melrose Trading Post (but we say on a cuter, smaller scale that's not as overwhelming to browse and shop.)

The Silverlake Flea is located on the PLAYGROUND of the Micheltorena St. Elementary School in the heart of Silverlake and the entrance is FREE to the General Public. The hours are from 12pm-5pm.

The Free Entrance is located at: 1511 Micheltorena LA CA 90026 & there is a FREE PARKING LOT for patrons located on the East Side of Golden Gate just behind the school.

Follow the signs and walk right through the lot into the Silverlake Flea where you will find awesome Local Indie folk selling their collections of hand selected Vintage, Handmade gems, works of art, rare vinyl, collectible turntables, and all kinds of other rotating surprises every month.

Look for Free Giveaways, Oddball Performance and installations, live music acts, and Free Workshops for kids & all ages. Don't be shocked to see a Guest Appearance by Angelyne & her infamous Pink Corvette because she is our beloved Mascot and the Ambassador of the Silverlake Flea. Silverlake Fencing will be setting up a Live Fencing Arena from time to time too!!

Fiora Boes

Fiora Boes- Founder & Organizer of the Silverlake Flea

Fiora Boes is the fine artist turned curator who founded Ghettogloss in 2000 and the Silverlake Flea in 2009. After curating some of the most cutting edge exhibits in the past decade, Fiora is now spending all of her time on her own art career. Pioneering the first online exhibition with COSTCO in 2014, Fiora's original works were the first to be championed by costco.com and were just recently added to the collection of Costco in the UK. 

The Ballerina from her Tightrope Series can be seen on the Ad Agency Set of the TV show Revenge. The Fortune Teller from her Tightrope Series was featured in the Salon Set of Glee in 2014. CBS' episodic television series Criminal Minds features a series of art by Fiora that was commissioned for an episode that aired late 2014. Airing at the end of the 2014 season of ABC's episodic television series The Goldbergs, several pieces of Fiora's work can be seen throughout one of the episodes.

No stranger to designing clothing, Fiora designed and manufactured her own line (called Fiora) in the late 1980's selling to majors like Barney's, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, and Nordstrom as well as to upscale boutiques around the globe. Costume designing the cult classic SLC Punk  & worked on the sequel to SLC Punk, Punk's Dead as the Production Designer/Costume Designer  (released in 2015) is just one example of the diversity of Fiora's Pop influenced style coming to life in diverse art forms.
