Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to present a very real and unique opportunity to be a part of the greatest adventure race to hit the market for everyday consumers.
We are excited to present our plans for the Calgary Scavenge event on December 19, 2020, and with the help of your valued contribution we are aiming to provide stellar prizes to our race entrants while raising $10,000 for the "Magic of Christmas" organization in Calgary, Alberta.
Meeting this goal is vitally important to spread the gift of giving, by visiting over 650 families and over 4,500 people in hospitals, care homes, and other institutions across the city of Calgary.
We have partnered with well-known company, GooseChase, who have been successful in the scavenger hunt business arena for years. Via use of their mobile app “GooseChase” (available for iOS and Android), all participants will have access to the hunt on the specified day of the hunt. You must download the app to participate in the hunt (it is free, don’t worry). Once the hunt is “live” you need to solve the missions to move through the stages of the hunt. Solving missions will not be a desktop activity; you may need to do any of the following activities, including but not limited to:
- “Check-in” at various locations utilizing your mobile device GPS
- Find a QR code that must be scanned utilizing your mobile device camera
- Upload a picture utilizing your mobile device camera
- Solve a problem related to math, number sequence, riddle, cipher, etc.
- Walk, run, hike, bike, or drive to various locations
Scavenge Corporation is a family owned adventure race company based out of Alberta, Canada. Scavenge was born out of a desire to encourage good health, create adventure, foster friendships, and give back to the community through charitable donations.
“We are passionate about good health, from nutrition and exercise to mental well-being and intellectual stimulation. Our family has gone through the corporate dilemma of inadequate work-life balance. Our family is rarely together for more than a week per month and we wanted more for our family and more for our community. Additionally, the Scavenge Family will create funds for charitable donations in many of our and your surrounding communities.” -The Anderson's (Owners)
Scavenge is unique compared to other Obstacle Course Race (OCR) events in the way that we utilize revenues generated. Other OCR's reward participants with headbands, medals, and generally low-quality items. Scavenge utilizes the bulk of revenue to reward our top finishers with REAL prizes. Whether it's prize cash or something tangible like a quad, dirtbike, vacation, or car, the bulk of our revenue goes back to the participants - known as the Scavenge Family!
We have created an unparalleled experience, unlike any other, that truly gives back - both to our participants, and our communities.
We have recently (October 17, 2020) completed our first successful event in Red Deer, AB. We received great feedback on our successes and areas for improvement and have already begun to evaluate our execution strategy and implement changes to make the Calgary event an even greater success!
