The First Ladies Health Initiative is focused on improving the overall physical and mental health of the African-American and Hispanic populations throughout Los Angeles. The First Ladies Health Luncheon is a community-oriented event where Pastors’ wives gather to glean valuable insight from healthcare professionals on a number of conditions that disproportionately affect minority communities. The Los Angeles Health Luncheon will take place on November 10^th, 2018 at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina Del Rey, from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

As a not-for-profit organization, our initiative is dependent upon sponsors and benefactors to further its efforts to improve the health of underserved communities. In return for supporting this event, sponsors will have the attention of nearly 200 people, including healthcare professionals, politicians, opinion leaders and First Ladies as well as their congregations which total more than 25,000 members.

Last year, we embarked on an historic collaboration with bioLytical Laboratories. The company donated 800 INSTI™ Rapid HIV testing kits to the First Ladies Health Initiative. This donation was accompanied by a matching challenge: for every test performed during our Los Angeles Health Day in April of 2016, one test was donated to the Bishop Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation in South Africa.

To date, we have provided no-cost health screenings to over 200,000 individuals. This is truly a testament to our commitment to save lives.
