About the event

The Creative Arts Society at the University of Buckingham is hosting a music & comedy gala for a charity named Hope for Justice.

The point is to raise a minimum of £14,000 for Hope for Justice, who tackled human trafficking on a global scale. They not only perform rescue missions for victims of this awful crime, but also fund rehabilitation for victims, societal reintegration schemes and reunite victims with their families. We want to help Hope for Justice continue doing incredible work all over the world, putting a stop to one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time.

Why should you sponsor?

Unfortunately, performers cost money. We could pay the acts out of ticket sales, but this would leave very little to give to the charity, rendering the event pointless. We have negotiated with our acts and managed to book them at discounted prices, however we are struggling to come up with the necessary funds to pay them. What we're hoping for is sponsorship which will help us pay the acts, so we can then forward all of the proceeds from ticket sales to Hope for Justice.

My name is Izzy Mehmet. I am the president of the Creative Arts Society at the University of Buckingham, where I study Psychology with English Literature.

This isn't the first event I have organised. As a teenager I was part of a music and film project group called Red Room, with whom I helped put together one of the many Queen's Jubilee events in 2012, where I also performed, as well as many other smallscale for-profit music events.

I have always been passionate about the creative and performance arts as well as causes such as what Hope for Justice stand for, and bringing the two together in such a way warms my heart to no end. I hope it warms yours, too. I have poured my soul into the organisation of this event, and as it draws closer, I am both excited and terrified about pulling it off. Please, help me do this, and you will have my eternal gratitude, as well as whatever you receive in the packages offered.
