SASA is a non-profit organization that organizes two main events throughout the school year: India Week (Fall) and Norman Nachle (Spring). India Week consist of events such as a showing of a Bollywood movie and traditional dance called Garba.
Norman Nachle is Oklahoma’s largest intercollegiate South-Asian dance competition that showcases performances representing the Indian-American culture. The money raised from this event will help us raise money to donate to WASH. With your help, we can provide clean water, better sanitation, teacher training, and hygiene education in schools that can improve the health and education of children.
Not only does SASA serve the OU campus in Norman and surrounding communities, we have partnered with Rotary International’s to help communities in India. Rotary International has created a program to develop
sustainable water, sanitation, hygiene (which is referred to as WASH). With your help, we can provide clean water, better sanitation, teacher training, and hygiene education in schools that can improve the health and education of children.
