I am the founder of Midwest Show Me Funny Entertainment in St. Louis, Missouri. I started my company for a way to use comedy and other forms of entertainment for fundraising opportunities and for entertainers to get connections. I’m currently organizing the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festival to be an annual event to help raise funds for community issues. I'm collaborating or partnering with other businesses across the United States. Many of them are non-profits that will benefit from the Livestream Events and our Live Events when they are allowed again. The plan is to keep the orginal plans included in this proposal for all of the events to be annual events. If we can't gather in large crowds this year, plans are being made to do the rest of the Comedy Festival scheduled for June 20th and 21st online at the beginning of June on the 3rd and 4th. The Juneteenth events scheduled for June 15-21, 2020 at Harris-Stowe State University may also become online events.

MY PROPOSAL FOR THE SHOW ME FUNNY COMEDY FESTIVAL AND OTHER EVENTS RELATED TO IT

I've set a target date to do a Juneteenth Celebration with the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festival June 15-21, 2020 at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, MO. The Corona Virus has forced the Comedy Festival preliminary and semi-final rounds of the Comedy Competition to be an online event. The Juneteenth Celebration can also take place online if we still can't gather in large crowds. If so, it will be a week long event with different local and nationally known speakers and entertainers speaking and entertaining online. There will be Masterclasses, Workshops and Panel Discussions related to topics about the African American Community. This celebration commemorates the June 19, 1865, announement of the abolition of slavery.

Invites are out to have up to 100 contestants to compete in the online Comedy Competition starting May 12, 2020. The events will be a weekly, 3 days a week from 7pm - 9pm, every Tue., Wed., and Thurs. There will be 10 Contestants, a Host, a Guest Entertainer and a DJ for every show. Also a different non-profit will be invited each day to share what their organization is doing in the community. The viewers will be asked to vote for and give a donation to the contestant and others they want to support who are on the show. The winners of the online Comedy Competition semi-final rounds will be invited back to perform at the Juneteenth event and the Final Rounds in July.

If we can gather in July the events will take place the 3rd and 4th at the St. Louis Convention Center in halls 1 & 2 and the Dome on the 5th. These locations will allow over 400 vendors and the space for over for up to 70,000 people. Many of the vendors will be well-known Comedians in town to do their Meet & Greets at the final days of the Comedy Festival. We plan to have the finals of the Comedy Competition at Ferrara Theatre on that Friday and Saturday. It's located inside the Convention Center. The GRAND FINALE is a Guinness World Record attempt and Fundraising Event. Because the current economic crisis has been a big financial "game-changer" and will contributed to the high number of homeless people in American. I’m using this comedy entertainment event as a way to help and heal. It's my wish to donate a portion of the proceeds to selected organizations willing to help with organizing and each event that is connected to it. Having this event will help all of the organizations coming together to help the community bounce back from Covid-19 and the opportunity for us to make Comedy Histoty. If we can't gather in July we will take the first opportunity to have the Comedy Festival vendor events and the Guinness World Record attempt at those locations. If the finals of the Comedy Competitions have to take place online it would be very exciting to have some of the biggest names in comedy to host the events or at the Live events at the STL Dome!

The plans were for this year and will be for future events of the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festivals is to have a series of pre-organized competitions either in person or online across the country to find the funniest comedians. The top prize for the pre event winners was and will be in the future for the comedians who won in their to get their expenses covered to come to St. Louis to compete for cash and prizes totaling $100,000 or more. It can still happen this year with the help of sponsors. I’m seeking help from sponsors willing to help cover the cost of this event and others planned for 2020 and beyond. Having comedy promoters onboard willing to collaborate will make it even more exciting! It worked out with only two promoters collaborating with me in 2010. That was the year I knew a Comedy Festival would be a great event for St. Louis and other cities to connect for collaborations to support causes. Most Comedy promoters have great connections to well-known names in this industy and ways to search for the funniest comedians in their area. I have received a proposal from the team of Nick Cannon to bring the Wild 'N Out cast members to the Comnedy Festival. Because of the quarantine, it's a great opportunity to have some of the cast members as our Special Invited Guest or Hosts for the online events! Glisser is very interested in being apart of the events for 2020, especially the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festival! They specialize in Hybrid and Virtual Events.

Having these events will draw up-and-coming comedians to it to entertain while helping worthy causes for years to come. Again, when it comes to comedy most people want to see nationally well known celebrity guests, hosts and judges. Having sponsors and vendors will help to cover the cost. I have many well-known connections that know about my plans to do this event and many of them want the opportunity to be a host or contestant. I would like to also honor or pay tribute to a Legendary Comedian each year of the “Show Me Funny” Comedy Festival.

As a sponsor the company will benefit from the positive endorsement of participation via residence seeking products and services. The Company's name and/or logo could be advertised in all printed advertisements, promotional items like t-shirts, caps and more. Advertisements can be placed on many of the websites of Midwest Show Me Funny Entertainment. All of that and more will be offered. However, it will depend on the level of sponsorship the company is willing to give to have their brand on all the event’s promotions related to the Comedy Festival and other events or future projects. A meeting would give us a chance to give the company a more detailed presentation.

Sponsorship Opportunities

It took years to get more people interested in joining me to plan this Comedy Festival. I am very passionate about this event and will be just as passionate representing your brand as a sponsor. I have passionate team members and the interest of well-known people in the comedy industy. I even have the opportunity to have part of the event at one of our local college campus for years to come. Harris Stowe State University would be a great location to have part of the Comedy Festival each year! It will be our location for other fundraisers also. The Marriott Grand Hotel and The City Place Hotel is interested in being the lounging location for our visitors. These hotels are in the downtown area and would be a great place for advertising our events with your brand included. I have submitted a RFP (request for proposal) to have the final events at the St. Louis Convention Center and Dome. My RFP was accepted and they are willing to pre-sale tickets and promotional items to help cover the cost of renting the Dome. Ticket set up for the Comedy Festival will also be taken care of. This will happen as soon as a date is locked in with a down payment and the signing of the contract. I also have the interest of the H.O.P.E. organization. Housing Our People Everywhere is a 501c-3 organization willing to partner with me.

Having your company as one of our 400+ vendors or one of our sponsors will help this event become one St. Louis annual grand events. I would like to collaborate with other comedy clubs and promoters across the United States to find the funniest comedians in their area and having some sponsors will help. It will also be another place for advertising your brand for our events. I know many comedy promoters that want to get started finding one comedian to send to St. Louis for future live events or online talent searches. The comedians can wear the sponsors brand on their event passes, t-shirts and other promotional gear of the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festival.

Again, the current economic crisis has been a big financial "game-changer" for many Americans. It's harder for the community organizations to give help in the community these days. Together we can help many organization through this crisis.

The Guinness event will bring in over 68,000 people. By including the raffle as a pay-it-forward to help many who attend the event with rent or mortgage assistance will definitely draw a crowd!

The Sponsorship level amounts can be discussed in a meeting with those who show an interest in being a sponsor of the event they are interested in.

My name is Marshelle Woodland, also known as Motivational Comedian Ms. Woody. I am the founder of Midwest Show Me Funny Entertainment. It's my wish to use comedy and other forms of entertainment to make a difference in the lives of many. I'm organizing the "Show Me Funny" Comedy Festival to be an annual event to help and heal through.

I fell in love with comedy at a young age and finally hit the stage as a stand up comedian in the mid 80's. I was inspired to take the stage when I was in college after watching Cedric the Entertainer doing stand up comedy. We attended Southeast Missouri State University together. Many times over the years I attended large Comedy Competitions and wanted to start my own here in St. Louis, Missouri. Well I did finally start my own and my first time organizing a Comedy Competition was in 2010. I donated some of the money made from that event to the Women's Safe House and the Family Resource Center. That year 35 comedians visited St. Louis and many of them ask when will I have another one. I tried a few times over the years but was unsuccessful at pulling it off the way I vision it to be. I always wanted to do a Comedy Festival that would bring a large crowd to my city and use the event to help raise funds for many causes. Especially for ending homelessness or helping more people avoid it! It can be done by partnering with many organizations willing to work to do that.

I am passionate about the homeless cause because I too have been homeless many times in my life. I know what it's like to have a need for the help you need for the hand up and not so much the hand out. It takes team work and caring hearts to make a real difference.
