About the event
Mechnovate is an international level technical symposium organised by the international chapter , ASME VIT. This symposium is a carnival for all those engineering students out there who are interested in learning new things and are looking forward to enlighten their knowledge. It aims to bring the best minds in India together on a common platform where new ideas come forth and newer opportunities could be created. This fest will have various technical and nontechnical events , series of lectures, seminars and exhibitions which will enrich an engineer with advanced knowledge in their field and attract students of various disciplines from all over India. Right from the beginning Mechnovate has been improving its standards to meet its tag ENHANCE THE VISION. This March, Mechnovate 2k17 is coming with much better events and lectures handled by expert professors and perfectly designed workshops to make sure students make something out of it. Mechnovate is the flagship mega-event organized by American Society of Mechanical Engineers VIT Student Section and School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT University since 2013. The 2017 edition will be the fourth edition of this engineering extravaganza. In total of three editions of this event, more than 3500 students have participated from more than 100 different institutes and had hosted esteemed events like ASME HPVC, ASME SPDC and ASME GT Conference.
Himanshu choudharyVIT University, formerly known as Vellore Engineering College was founded by Dr. G Viswanathan in 1984 at Vellore. The concept of a world class education, limitless exposure, and nourishment of ignited minds for the future of our nation and abroad are the very foundations on which this institution was built. It began with an intake of 180 students and over the years, VIT evolved consistently into 2 campuses. Nearly 31000 students are enrolled in UG and PG programs. VIT’s academic and extracurricular activities activities have grown exponentially over the years. VIT ranks among top 10 in terms of research publications. It has a unique lifestyle and culture. Nearly all the festivals are celebrated in VIT. Students from across the nation and abroad reside and study in VIT which gives the feel of ‘Home Away from Home’. VIT also has a strong Aluminus because of which it has built a strong network in the industry. For its relentless commitment towards its’ vision, professional achievements &contribution towards the society, VIT has been ranked No.1 by MHRD in 2016.
ASME- VIT is a Mechanical Engineering student chapter in VIT University, Vellore. It was established in 2010 with the help of officials from ASMEINDIA. Our vision is to preach knowledge about the practical applications of Mechanical Engineering concepts, provide a platform for students to develop and showcase their technical skills and most importantly; develop a network of professionals working in the industry. In order to accomplish our vision, ASME-VIT has successfully organized symposiums like INERTIA- 2013, MECHNOVATE-2015, ASME GT INDIA Conference – 2015, MECHNOVATE-2016, HPVC- 2016 and SPDC-2016. ASME-VIT has also won the Outstanding Student Section Award granted by ASME-INTERNATIONAL at Asia-Pacific level in August 2016 for its perseverance and overwhelming outreach. ASME-VIT will continue its legacy of success and scale new heights in the years to come.
