The Los Angeles Nollywood Film Association (LANFA) has experienced tremendous growth since it’s inception.  LANFA is home for a multicultural event in which diversity is embraced and cherished.  Over the years, our goal has been to provide a platform for our creative artists to produce and showcase their unique artistic abilities, increase the level of film and music awareness in the community, promote the brand, strengthen and grow the credibility of the group. To also foster the creation of successful working partnerships, empower networking, raise visibility, and strengthen distribution and marketing channels.

To recognize leading contributors who are working towards the growth and development of international films and Music industries.  LANFA, an independent company works with Hollywood on the production of quality African and other International works in film and television in the Americas and other countries worldwide; showcase the skills, ethics, and artistic expressions that demonstrate the excellence and professional work standards in our performances.

FILM MARKET WORKSHOP:

LANFA is working to address filmmakers’ concern about how to market their film after festivals, initial screening and premiers.  One way LANFA is doing this is through its Film Market Workshop.

Film Market Workshop is held the week of LANFA festival.  The main objective of Film Market Workshop is to help film industry professionals get information about industry standard for filmmaking, acting tips, financing and marketing their films, networking, and screening of films from Nollywood U.S.A.  Film Market Workshop also provides opportunities for filmmakers to pitch their projects to national and international industry professionals who are willing to offer filmmakers privileged access to sale their films to buyers, distributors and investors.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FILM SCHOOL:

LANFA will partner with film schools and colleges to offer internship opportunities to our young filmmakers.  The internship opportunities will provide hands-on practical experience to the young filmmaker, thus help develop their filmmaking and other industry related skills.

We will deliver our annual festival to our enthusiastic audience, featuring incredibly diverse and talented filmmakers, exciting red carpet premieres, and the best in independent film and music.

The opening and screening events are slated for August 3th and 4th 2017.  LANFA Award ceremony is scheduled on August 5, 2017 followed by after party, venue at the James Bridges Theatre located at 235 Charles E. Young Dr. N Los Angeles, California 90095 U.S.A

This three-day festival will offer hands on screening of  films from Nollywood U.S.A and several international countries, promote Actors, Directors, Producers  and behind the scenes in international films to Hollywood.

Hello Everyone.  Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to stop at my event sponsorship page.  I sincerely appreciate you. 

A little about me; my is Susan Nwokedi, I am a filmmaker with more than 15 years of film and entertainment industry experience in acting, screenplay writing, producing, and directing.  In 2007 I produced my first film "Ricochet".  Richochet  set several standards in the Nollywood independent film industries:  it paved the way for a lot of new actors and filmmakers.  The following year, 2008, I produced my second film, "Blood and Destiny".  The trend continued with several more film productions.  One of my most recent prouductions is currently in post production and is slated for premier Spring 2017.  I have worked with some top industry artists in both Nollywood and Hollywood.  Some of my films were shot on location in Africa.  I was a Texas public school teacher for  11 years before resigning this year for family reasons.  I hold a graduate and two post graduate degrees in Theatre, Film, Media, Technology and Education/Administrative Leadership. 

I am passionate about filmmaking,  entertainment, education  and helping others achieve their dreams.  Being part of LANFA affords me the opportunity to continue to empower others.  I am the owner of  several companies; a produciton house, a professional consulting and distribution comnpany, a media distribution outfit and an arts & technology education enrichment program for children and adults. 

I believe in dreaming big and going after your dreams.
