  • About the event

    We cordially invite you to take part in the 3rd
    edition of the Lahore Alma Model United
    Nations (LAMUN). This three-day conference
    will be held in August 2017 at The Lahore Alma.

    This being our third experience we aspire to
    reach new heights and set up some
    outstanding diplomacy standards that would
    indeed be a unique experience for you.
    At LAMUN’17 we would be conducting
    stimulated sessions of some
    intergovernmental organizations of the UN,
    in order for the participants to learn civics,
    effective communication and multilateral
    diplomacy. The participants will take on roles
    as diplomats, investigate internal issues,
    debate, deliberate on problems. We will have 7 Committees with 2 chairs in each committee.

    and in order for them to have a remarkable
    experience team LAMUN would make sure to
    provide you an exclusive Social Events
    Collection.
    We eagerly await participants from
    institutions from all over Pakistan. The host team is ready and extremely excited to welcome you at the 3rd edition of LAMUN.

    The Lahore Alma, as part of its aim of providing holistic academic and co-curricular education, plans to host a Model United Nations Conference in the first week of September 2017, expecting 1000 participants, for which we are seeking sponsors. A Model UN is a re-creation of the United Nations proceedings, with participating students playing roles of many different country representatives in UN committees like the General Assembly, Security Council etc. The purpose of a Model UN is for students to achieve a greater understanding for students not only of the UN, but also of global issues, through an interactive and enjoyable educational experience. It is an attempt to make students aware of global challenges, and encourage them to think creatively with an international outlook to problem-solving, that attracts many of the brightest minds in the country. Our Conference structure includes a Secretary General, Director General and Under-Secretary General, elected by the student body, with committees handling Finance, Fundraising, Logistics and Communications. We plan to simulate 6 main committees in the MUN: Disarmament and International Security council, Social Humanitarian and Cultural Committee, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Development Program, Pakistan National Assembly.
    We are expecting the viewers to be over 7000 in total including participants and social media shares. Our 2 Facebook pages have around 50,000 likes and all the posts regarding the event are posted there, posts related to sponsors will be posted on the pages as well.
