About the event

A RUN to Change Lives Production: The 5k Suicide Prevention RUN that JR started to plan. Let’s complete it for him. JR Pinon was a Funeral Director in Castle Rock for nearly 10 years, he was passionate about making the Castle Rock community the best place to live. During the pandemic, the Funeral Home started to see an increase in the rate of suicides which caused him a lot of deep sorrow for the families suffering loss. JR had often tried to figure out what he could do to help, he had often talked about putting together an event for suicide awareness and prevention. Unfortunately, before this idea could be put together, JR lost his battle and took his own life. This run is not only the opportunity for those who knew JR to find closure within his passing, but for us to also support a cause he was so passionate about.
