About our event

The Delia Foundation recently opened the Vibrant Kids Holistic Intervention Center in Barlad, Romania, for special needs children and orphans. Our foundation is named after Delia, who is now seven years old, she was born without full limbs to a young mother who left her immediately after birth. Delia has been living in an orphanage in Barlad, unable to attend school and is deemed unadoptable because of her disability. We have set out to change that perception that she and her friends are unable to learn, have a family, and function in society.

We have invited Author, Aerialist, and world-renowned Speaker Jen Bricker.  Jen was born without legs and put up for adoption from a Romanian Orphanage. Jen's incredible story has been featured on HBO, ESPN, 20/20 and Good Morning America among just a few. Jen will inspire and motivate others to BELIEVE that anything is indeed possible.

Our event is about empowering young people to believe #everythingispossible.

Sponsorship Opportunities

By sponsoring this amazing event, you are reaching athletes,  youth, foster parents, parents of special needs children and compassionate humans yearning to hear a heartwarming story in these days of what seems to be bad news every day.

You and or your company can help spread an inspiring message to the youth of today.

Our center may be in Romania but our mission is to change the stigma of children with disabilities. In Romania, children with special needs do not have the opportunity to attend school because of this stigma. We believe this is beyond a country problem but it is about the children, education, and teaching that these children are capable of learning, living, dreaming and one day maybe becoming an aerialist.

"Good for Business" should mean "Good for the World"

My name is Laura Larkin, and I am the founder and director of the Delia Foundation.
As a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children in Maricopa County for 15 Years. I worked on 16 cases with 34 children and became a Peer Coordinator for 6-10 Volunteers at a time. With my work as an advocate, I became interested in volunteering abroad with NGO Global
Volunteers which led me to volunteer seven times with disabled orphans in Barlad, Romania.

I met Delia when she was just a baby; she was born without full limbs. I feel in love with her and her friends at the orphanage, when I found out that they are unable to attend school because of their disabilities, myself and some friends decided this was unacceptable. See when these children turn eighteen they are moved to an adult institution to live out there life.  I have now made it my mission to show that these children are capable of beautiful things, and they most definitely deserve an education.
My passion has led me to create The Delia Foundation, where I can work with children and seniors, both of which have been her life-long passions.
