About the event

RGNIYD is an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament of India. It is the nodal agency working for Youth Development and functions as a vital resource center coordinating Training, Orientation, Research, Extension and Outreach initiatives for State, Central Governments and National level youth organizations.

The Institution has been engaged in organizing joint programs and projects that benefit young people across the globe and has been working to build consensus on youth related issues. As mandated by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, RGNIYD has been consistently working on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the same has been reflected in our three year Action Agenda, as follows:

• Develop Training manuals and carry out training programs based on identified targets of SDG
• Identify critical targets within the SDG framework pertaining to youth and formulate the indices for each of the targets.
• Documenting and sharing the best practices on various initiatives and interventions relevant to SDGs

RGNIYD is organizing an International Conference on "Achieving Youth-Specific SDGs: Key Challenges and Policy Responses", during 25 to 27th July 2018, in collaboration with Commonwealth, and the following UN organisations as knowledge Partners:

• UNESCO -MGIEP (Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development) 
• International Labour Organisation (ILO) and
• International Organisation for Migration (IOM)

The intended outcome of the three day Conference is to not only bring together successful researchers, academicians and practitioners to barter ideas and expertise on the selected themes, but also to develop Policy Briefs on six thematic areas viz. Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Youth & Labor Migration, Gender, Education for Sustainable Development, Youth Centric Institutions and strengthening social equality for youth and communities, and Role of Youth in implementing SDGs.
