About the event
This workshop is the second part of the Healing Journey workshop series. Come explore your creative side by making a personalized bag of support to carry.
Managing the healing journey with purpose requires creativity. In this workshop, we will create a personalized Healing Journey swag bag using a variety of items to stimulate the senses (essential oils, stones, fidget items, candies + more) for you to carry to help strategically work through triggers by stimulating the senses. It is also symbolic of nurturing self-love. Fill your bag with items that remind you to love yourself with patience and kindness.
The community welcomes you and your journey in a safe space to explore your healing and support you along the way.

Why should you sponsor?
A greater awareness of mental health encourages anyone suffering from mental illness to seek help. Greater awareness of mental health is a tremendous development, yet in NYC, services are scarce, especially for survivors of sex trafficking. Healing Journey supports survivors in the search for healing.
Many survivors are left with uncertainty in their journey after aging out of services, outgrowing services, or are looking for other ways to engage with the world at large. Though clinical therapy is certainly crucial in the healing journey, the journey of healing is different for everyone so survivors are encouraged to explore their healing journey. Some may find yoga activities healing and others might find that journaling fits their healing journey. Healing Journey workshops provide opportunities to explore activities that promote healing in a non-clinical setting.
Your support will help survivors thrive after receiving social services through holistic healing experiences. This workshop series explores managing triggers, body awareness through movement such as dance and yoga, and building community at meetings. We would be grateful for your support.
My name is Marie, a survivor leadership consultant in NYC. I work with survivors on an individual basis and nonprofits serving survivors of sex trafficking. It has been a privilege to be able to give back to the community as I was supported with my own healing journey as a survivor of trafficking.
My goal is to offer my workshops to all survivors no matter where they are in their journey. I also aspire to return to school to earn my masters degree in community building and pursue a doctorate degree exploring the nuances in a healing journey as we are all different.
