GenXGames,

Sacramento, California, United States Sacramento, California, United States

  • About the event

My GenXGames are events that I plan monthly specificially reserved for those over the age of 35.

It is simple: I want people to re-live their childhood playground days by playing games such as kickball, flag football, capture the flag, soccer, basketball, softball, and other.

All the games will end with a social afterwards that may include a potluck or barbeque with networking opportunities.

So, this is not a ONE time event, it is a movement.

    Why should you sponsor?

There are folks out there of this age who may feel intimidated by participating in weekly leagues or simply competing against younger, faster, and more athletic "kids."

I know how to host these events.  I know what I am doing.  I know how to get everyone involved, even the most timid participant who came just to "check things out." All participants needs to feel invested and feel included in to the group.

    Darin Wissner

I have a degree in Recreation Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. That was years ago, when the internet was just starting.  I am 51 years old.

I am not having a cake sale.  I know nothing about baking.  What I do know is how to host a fun, recreational event, with a myraid of sports.  I make adults laugh at themselves and others and feel at ease.

I am a loyalist.  I used to get my hair cut from a friend of mine who did an awful job for probably two years!  I could not leave her because I was loyal! My wife told me I was nuts.  I take care of those who help me and whom are genuinely interested in what I am trying to achieve.

I started to participate in sports back in February of 2016, and it had been a LONG time since I had.  Man, did I have fun! I know there are others out there who want to do the same but are not sure how to do it.  Maybe you can be of help?
