About the event

KCL Film Studies Festival presents French Indie Overseas with the UK PREMIERE of 'GOOD PEOPLE', a film directed by Bruno Lopez who will honour us with his presence at the event. 

The film tells the story of a robbery, where two accomplices accidentally kidnap a little girl. Despite her young age, the girl carries secret wounds that the two brigands will eventually discover. 

Bruno Lopez is an independent French filmmaker who deals with the fictional with naturalness and purity. This authenticity comes from the struggle he encountered during the making of the film, which took 4 years, yet resulted in the work of a lifetime. 

The film was awarded Best Feature Film at the International Thai Film Festival 2019. The lead actress, Paloma Lopez, received an award for her performance in the French Film and TV festival «Les Hérault du cinéma et de la télé ». 

'GOOD PEOPLE' will be introduced by the screening of the short film 'Eva' directed by Pierre Fessard (2019), a young independent french filmmaker. 

Following the screening, Bruno Lopez will be interviewed by Sarah Cooper, Professor of Film Studies at King's College London. Cooper's research interests include Art house cinema and French-language cinema. The discussion will then be opened for a Q&A with the audience!

We are turning to sponsors so as to financially support the coming of Bruno Lopez, the director of the film we are presenting. He would be coming from Paris with the main actress, Paloma Lopez. Since it is a student fim festival we have no fund and the event is free. We are open to any kind of sponsorship in exchange for transportation for the director and the actress.
