About the event

The Food Safety Summit 2021 is a series of webinar talks on different food safety topics such as safe food delivery amidst the pandemic, remote auditing on food safety standard certifications, proper waste management and how it affects food safety, safe food handling and preparation in the food service industry during the pandemic, etc.

It will be composed of 6 satggered webinar sessions, each session will cover 2 topics, and each topic will be at most 2 hours long. Various professionals and experts from the food industry, from local and abroad will conduct the talks.

Why should you sponsor?

This Summit is generally produced as part of our organization's advocacy to instill the value of food safety practices even to the smallest food entreprenuers in the country. Considering Philippines, which is a third world country, but already has a booming food industry, yet most food entreprenuers on processing and food service, particularly the small ones who cannot afford to acquire professional trainings, still lack knowledge about food safety.

This event, in other words, is their avenue to learn about food safety and to be informed of the new issues on food safety and their role being key players of the food industry, for free.

They can access the webinars for free, no registration fees needed, thus our aim to partner with sponsors for this event just so to cover the basic expenses on internet connection, honorarium for the speakers, and subscriptions to video conferencing applications.

Short educational videos will also be produced, the content of which willbe customized  to fit the smaller and new food companies in teh country.

I am representing the Association of Negros Producers- Foundation for Enterprise Development, Inc. (AFEDI) as the irFood Safety Porgram coordinator. Our organization was basically founded in partnership with a German foundation, AFOS and the country's Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI, as a support group to micro, small and medium food enterprises in the Visayas region. Various professionals (chemists. engineers, medical doctors, food technologists, nurses, accountants, etc.) were pooled and were rigidly trained on different food safety principles and standards. It is part then of the organization to deploy these professionals to cascade down their learnings to the MSMEs of the region, as much as possible, free of charge. The engagement is merely voluntary and we continued to live on based on our trust to these professionals. We are still continue thriving and existing with this advocay on our shoulders and in our hearts.
