About Finance and Investment Convention 2016
Finance and Investment Convention 2016 was the first attempt by Catalyst to do a finance event on such an outsized scale. The competition was held at university level and saw a participation of more than 120 teams including teams from Amity and colleges of Delhi – NCR. FIC’16 was a two day event having a speaker session and competitions. Day one of the competition encompassed of two speaker sessions on technical analysis and merger and acquisitions followed by a business quiz and mock stock. On day two there was a live monopoly game which was the deciding round. There was a cash prize of Rs. 30,000/- which was strewn among the winner, runner up and second runner up. FIC gained recognition as no other college in Delhi NCR offered such high cash prize.

Arnav PatniCatalyst is the finance society of Amity College of Commerce and Finance, Amity University, Noida. It was founded by a student, Abhay Rusind in his first year of B. Com. (Hons) 2014 and his idea was supported by our faculty Mrs. Preeti Garg. With their vision we formed this society and was inaugurated by then Director (ACCF) Dr. Shipra Maitra on the 16th of February 2015 in his second semester. Now this society has 35 highly dedicated and motivated members who got selected after clearing a 3 round section process (CASE). Because of which we were the first society in our institution to have a successful, fair and efficient entry procedure. Following which a series of successes has led for Catalyst to be one of the most sought after student society.

Finance and Investment Convention is an idea of Catalyst to educate tomorrow's professionals about the field of finance since it has both personal and professional implications. A person who is financially aware will be more capable in planning and managing his own finance. Also it is bloodline of any business to grow, expand and sustain in the dynamic and challenging market which has given rise to a career in finance and fund management. Therefore, the concept was developed by our team. This event will be stretch to two days
- Day 1 - 20th January 2016 Workshop and Preliminary Rounds,
- Day 2 - 21st January 2016 Final Round
The competition will test the application of the knowledge base in finance and will thrive to provide a close simulation to financial analysis.
The competition will be held in Amity University Noida, Uttar Pradesh.This event is divided into two days
- Day 1 - workshop in which the elite speakers from the field of finance and banking like professors, bankers, corporate professionals, stock brokers and others will address the students and will clear their doubt.
- Round 1 - B Flex ( Preliminary Round)
- Round 2 - Ninja Traders
- Day 2 –
- Final Round – EKADHIKAR
On this final day there will be a winner deciding round in which finance brains will compete with one another in a 6x6 Monopoly with just a few tweaks
