Annual Farming Hope Fundraiser Fiesta
Sunday, September 16
6-9 pm
Mister Jiu’s, 28 Waverly Place, San Francisco, CA
Join our movement to build change around food. Feed it forward by joining us to raise $70,000 toward our cafe opening.
Dine with like-minded food enthusiasts and community builders at our annual fundraiser fiesta; and meet the team behind Farming Hope and other beloved restaurants in San Francisco that will provide food and beverages to support our cause. Our venue, the breathtaking and Michelin-starred Mister Jiu's, will make for the perfect evening of eating well and paying it forward.
Here are a few restaurants featured at our fundraiser last year:
+ Mission Chinese Food
+ Outerlands
+ Nopa & Nopalito
+ Turtle Tower
+ Zero Zero
+ Tartine Bakery
We’ll kick the night off with drinks and live music, followed by an evening of delicious bites, inspirational stories from community members, a live auction and activities (cactus-jam workshop, anyone?).

Farming Hope is a culinary program and social movement promoting self-sufficiency by creating equitable opportunities in local food businesses.
We use ancestral Mexican wisdom to transform imperfect produce into nourishing, vegetable focused cuisine.
We create spaces for people to come together across boundaries and share our stories, so everyone can have a platform.
Our 125+ guests will be foodies and social change leaders in San Francisco, gathering to benefit our work creating transitional employment and job training in the food system.
We'd like to talk with you about how our values and priorities might overlap, and if a fiscal partnership would benefit both of us and our community.
Farming Hope is a 501c3 nonprofit, born out of the Stanford Design School food business incubator in 2016.
We've been offering transitional employment and job training through gardening and cooking for nearly two years in San Francisco. In that time, we've gathered over 3,000 people to eat together, homeless and housed neighbors breaking bread together with the food cooked by our training apprentices.
Our head chef and co-founder, Kevin Madrigal, is a South San Francisco native, who experienced firsthand the need for healthy food training and community. His food ethos centers on the wisdom of ancestral Mexican cooking learned from his immigrant family and neighbors, with a plant-based, seasonal focus. His background in nutrition and education helps ensure our platform is used to inspire healthier eating.
Our apprentices are experiencing major barriers to employment, primarily homelessness. We grow hope and opportunity together as a team, and with the community that supports us.
