Fame U.K Reunion,

Liverpool, England, United Kingdom Liverpool, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

The original cast of the tv series Fame will reunite for the first time on a U.K. stage in 35 years. Two Fame U.K. Reunion concerts will take place on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May in The Auditorium of the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

The reunion concerts are part of a the May Day weekend full of Fame activities, including a 3 day Fame convention, meet & greets with the cast members and more.

The reunion is initiated and produced by fans as a charity event to benefit the Claire House Children’s Hospice in Liverpool. Special VIP packages are available through the website.

The Reunion launched on BBC1's THe One Show on September 5th.

The Fame U.K. Reunion concerts will feature eight original cast members of the Fame tv series: Erica Gimpel (Coco), Valerie Landsburg (Doris), Lee Curreri (Bruno), Carlo Imperato (Danny), P.R. Paul (Montgomery), Cynthia Gibb (Holly), Nia Peeples (Nicole) and Jesse Borrego (Jesse).

The cast is brought together by life long fan Sue Hinds who, with a team of volunteers, is producing the show in aid of the Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The new single ‘Satellite’ was co-written and co-produced by P.R. Paul who was cured from Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The diagnosis in 2007 made him change his life drastically by selling the family business in order to downgrade stress and to go back to his first love: acting and music. Together with his Fame cast mates, he wants to give something back to the community with the profits of this single release going to two youth-centered charity organizations: StreetSolid (for at-risk teens in Nashville) and The Maine Youth Rock Orchestra (providing music education for students of all backgrounds).

The Kids from Fame are one of the biggest pop acts from the 1980’s, emerging from the immensely popular television series Fame. The show ran for six seasons. Five television soundtrack albums were released. Due to huge demand, the cast members did two concert tours as ‘The Kids from Fame’ in the UK, Europe and Israel, including the Royal Albert Hall.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support they help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher.

    Why should you sponsor?

The "Fame" TV  series was all about inspiring people to achieve their dreams. To be better people and help others. As fans we have taken that message to heart and are trying to realise not only our dreams but those of all the Fame fans who have waited 35 years for the cast to return to the U.K.

At the same time we are trying to support a really worthy cause. All the work is being done by volunteers, the cast and band are either working for free or much reduced rates. All the profits from the Concerts and Convention will be donated to Claire House Children's Hospice. The more we can fund the costs of the Concerts, Convention, Flights from the U.S. and hotels for the cast through sponsorship the more money we can raise for the termianlly ill children.

We are looking to work with anyone who wants to support the charity or wants to be a part of this wonderful project, no matter how small. Are you inspired by the TV Series or by others who are dedicated helping others? Do you want to be part of this success story?

Our Event Launched on the One Show and we have a second slot on that show when the cast are actually here in the U.K. next year rehearsing, to update the viewers on how hard work and determination have achieved a successful event.

Sponsorship from £50 to £15,000+ would be gratefully accepted and make a World of difference to what we can achieve.

Fame U.K. Reunion is a small team of life long Fame Fans. Inspired by the show we are now living our dream as we bring Fame back to the U.K. We are working to support our beloved cast and also the charity for terminally ill children.

Our Leader and the Reunion's Producer Sue Hines is a career detective. She has adopted many roles within the Police force and is currently a T/Detective Inspector leading a Child Exploitation team in Merseyside. A Fame fan since the very first episode, Sue built a treasured friendship with cast member Valerie Landsburg after writing to her as a child. Sue is personally funding the costs of the Reunion.

The rest of the team Mark Perkins, Shelley Bolderson and Franklin Van Liempt are working on a volunteer basis to make this dream a reality.
