Essence of Freedom Run 5k/10k, held annualy on Memorial Day (This year is May 29, 2017), on the streets of Deerfield, Illinois, benefiting Lake County Veterans and other Illinois Veterans in need.  The Essence Of Freedom Run is the featured event of Save Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc. a 501(c) 3 organization, benefiting Lake County and other Illinois Veterans in need, which gives you or your company a tax donation amount for your sponsorship. 

Civilian participants will be privileged and proud to run alongside military servicemen and women - an opportunity that is rare and exciting!

Tribute signs line the course created for runners to share 'who they run for'.  Some signs are a general tribute to our Nation's Heros, some very personal. 

This event emphasizes our pride in America and those who sacraficed for our freedoms.

"Support Our Troops" is a popular slogan.  For some people, sadly, this is where their "support" both begins and ends. For other people, of course, "Support Our Troops" is highly personal. It may mean: "Support my husband or wife, my father or mother, my sister or brother, or my child" who are often deployed far away from their homes and families and are put in harms way to defend our Country, our values and our freedom.   

Such sacrifices should not to be taken lightly indeed, they are to be commended and supported.

The event preceeds the Village Of Deerfield's Memorial Day parade.  This is a Family Day of fun and pride that starts with our event.

ROLLING THUNDER lead-off the runners and stay for pictures and give rides if desired.

Many vendors givingout samples and selling products.

Music and activities for all ages to enjoy.
