About the event

Epitome of Soul, Inc. hosts its annual Holiday Gala and Awards Dinner on December 7, 2016.  We invite you to join us for an evening to celebrate and support the arts.  Epitome of Soul's mission is to provide access to arts programming for students in urban communities, in addition to growing leaders in society through the arts.  Proceeds from the Holiday Gala go towards our student programs, such as the Arts & Soul Afterschool Program and Arts Symposium and Master Class. We look forward to having you join us for an evening of great live music, celebration of outstanding honorees, silent auction prizes and more! Why should you sponsor?

In the state of New Jersey, only 47.3% of high school students are exposed to one or more art disciplines and students are receiving limited education with respect to the arts. Thus, Epitome of Soul seeks to be apart of the major change that arts exposure can bring to students. 

Epitome of Soul’s mission is to equip, empower and encourage elementary and high school students to strive for academic excellence and cultural advancement through the arts. The organization strives to place arts, whether visual or performing, at the center of educational communities to cultivate leaders in society. To date, Epitome of Soul has impacted the lives of over 250 students through their after-school program, Arts Symposium Series and mentorship workshops, in addtion to aiding in the cultural development of communities through cultural performances across the Passaic and Bergen counties of New Jersey. Successful programming has been recognized, and the organization has been awarded both the Mayor’s Award for Civic Engagement and The Rotary Club’s Patersonians Making a Difference Beneficiary Award in 2014. 

Sponsorship support of this year's Holiday Gala and Awards Dinner can help mitigate some of the expense to hold the event, therefore allowing Epitome of Soul to have additional funding for student programs.  Your support would be greatly appreciated and revered by our organization. 

Our supporters come from a variety of backgrounds. They consist of young professionals, educators, celebrity artists, retirees, parents, and community leaders. The primary demographic consists of 25- 65+ year olds , and each year continues to draw additional support. We promote a collective fun environment, and guests of any age have a great time.

Nailah Butler

Hi there!

My name is Nailah Butler, and I serve as the Executive Director of Epitome of Soul, Inc. Almost 5 years ago, I co-found Epitome of Soul after realizing that too many students don't have access to arts education in urban communities. My professional background is in business (marketing,non-profit, leadership development, and international non-governmental industries) and I am passionate about progressing communities and individuals through my dedication to non-profit work.
