The East Rand Show is destined to be one the largest shows in South Africa.

From 30 November to 2 December 2017, at the Benoni Northerns Sports Club, Ekurhuleni will experience a show of prestige, range and scale. Consumers will interact with businesses of all sizes and enjoy an exclusive range of products, from every sector and all industries.

The East Rand Show is the ideal platform to display your products and services to the region and the country. Exhibitors and sponsors get maximum exposure from all businesses and consumers.

Within these sectors, we have confirmed in the region of 600 exhibitors from all over South Africa. We anticipate at least 45 000 visitors through the gates, all responding to our intensive marketing campaign for a show hosted on 169,000 m² (that's 24 football fields).

Experience has taught us how to market events such as the East Rand Show. We target our audience through national and local campaigns – newspapers, magazines, the Internet and social media, radio stations, flyers, billboards and banners.

In these managed campaigns, we tell visitors about the exciting events and entertainment on offer – enough to keep singles, parents and children busy.

We have a full ala carte restaurant operating during the show. It is large enough to seat and serve two hundred patrons comfortable. Delicious food and beverages is served from a continental menu. Due to the size of our show, we will have several beer gardens situated throughout the venue for the ease of visitors and exhibitors. Mobile carts will motor around the showground delivering pre-ordered food and beverages. To complement this, there will also be a large variety of food stalls around the showgrounds. Here, friends and family relax and socialise while they enjoy quality snacks and drinks while they listen to excellent entertainment acts. We have signed commitment from international performers such as The Parlotones, Elvis se Seun, Captain’s Beard, Franja Du Plessis,Juan Boucher, dancers etc.  An exciting stage design will be a first in the event industry. Virtual Productions will handle stage management.

Stand sizes vary from nine square metres to 1,000 m². Exclusive products are housed in the 2,000 m² John Barrable Hall. Exhibitors in this area are eligible to compete for in the Stand of the Year competition, mentioned below. Smaller market stalls are traditional in nature, with consumer goods on sale from all avenues of business. We have organised a wide variety of competitions with big prizes. These team and individual events will take place during the three days and Include:

• Schools cheerleading (Floating Trophy 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd)
• Mr & Ms East Rand  (Ages 18 to 26 with trophies and cash prizes)
• Mr & Ms Fitness ( With trophies and cash prizes)
• Baby of the Year (0 to 12 months with cash prizes and gifts)
• Toddler of the Year (1 to 6 years with cash prizes and gifts)
• Strong Man
• Stand of the Year (Floating trophy and a free stand for the following year’s East Rand Show)
• East Rand Business of the Year (Floating trophy - this is the most prestigious category, with the winner announced by the Mayor of Ekurhuleni who will attend on Saturday 2 December).

There are entry fees for the Baby, Toddler, Mr & Ms East Rand, Mr & Ms Fitness competitions.

For daytime visitors, we have the following exciting entertainment on offer:

Two of the largest nursery schools on the East Rand will be there to watch over the children, if mom and dad want some downtime. The Funland sector will host a variety of rides and pleasures for young and old in 15,000 m² of fun

We have designed an interactive smartphone application - the Global Business Network Initiative (GBNI) app - available for the first time this year. This app is a free word of mouth marketing tool for exhibitors, linking them with their marketplace. The revolutionary app hosts every business exhibiting at the show, registering them with all relevant details. Visitors download the free app prior to entering the showgrounds, or at the entrance as they arrive. The app helps businesses and consumers interact, matching need with supply. The app will be available for the next 12 months to effect the same searches, saving businesses thousands of rands on flyers and business card prints.

The organisers of the East Rand Show are experienced at staging events of this scale. The management team behind the East Rand Show and the EIBN app includes four events professionals.

Jaco Pretorius, founder and chief organiser of the East Rand Show, has over seven years’ experience in organising large festivals in South Africa. His previous experience includes:

ü  The Mpumalanga Expo - Mining and Agricultural Show in 2010. There were over 350 exhibitors from all over Mpumalanga and Gauteng, with
10,000 visitors over the 2 days.

ü  Headline festivals such as Innibos Fees, Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees, Aardklop Nasionale Kunstefees, Durban July, Electra Mining, H₂O Dance Fest, and Oppikoppi.
