About the event
North Carolina is a big basketball state and the city of Greensboro is known for producing young and talented athletes that go on to play at the collegiate and professional level. As a boro bred and former collegiate athlete myself, I think its time to bring an all girls camp competitive camp back to the city. In this area, girls' participation numbers have went down and the skill level overall has decreased as well. There were times that the girls games were just as slammed packed as the boys. The competitive level has declined due to a combination of the lack of fundamentals and passion for the sport.
We will provide motivational speakers to bring more positive energy into the kids, proper coaching that will teach them the fundamentals of the game and will have guest appearances from college and professional elite athletes. The appearances by the athletes will allow the kids to hear their different backgrounds/stories and inspire them to want to work hard to get where they want to be.
Why should you sponsor?
Take a moment to think about what it took for you to create your own brand or company. Did you find yourself trying to figure out if it was a formula that you could follow to make your brand/company come into fruition?
Drew Effect, LLC is the formula that you needed. This brand is about empowering individuals to be who they want to be and ensuring that they succeed. DREW stands for Dream, Rehearse, Execute and Win. Im pretty positive this was the formula that you unknowingly followed to get where you are today. We all have the power to create our own life and do what you are the most passionate about. My goal is to reach the younger generation first because they are our future leaders of the world. Teaching them that they can visualize themselves doing what they love, grind and commit themselves daily, apply what they have practiced and they will set themselves up to win/be successful.
There are many basketball camps in the world, but none will ever be like this. We will reach and give back to the youth on a level that is unmatched because things they will learn at the camp they will be able to carry on and use forever.
My name is Brittany Drew and I am from Greensboro, NC. I attended high school and college in Greensboro. I was a four year varsity athlete at Page High School and earned All-Conference and the Bill Lee Memorial Scholar. I was a strong student on and off the court, because I dedicated and committed myself to be the best I could be in all aspects of my life. I carried this level of commitment into Guilford College. I was a four year starter and athlete for the basketball team. All-Conference, Second-Team All-ODAC, and two time ODAC Conference Champion. I was heavily involved into my academics and clubs on campus. I was a Principled Problem Solving Scholar, National Beta Honor Society Member and member of the Student Athlete Committee.
I am now an AAU 6th grade coach for girls and head JV coach at the high school level. I also worked in for a Nike-affiliated sports camp in Maine, where I had the pleasure of coaching and training kids from all over the world the game of basketball. I have a true passion for the game and get pure joy out of helping others reach their goals and getting better at the game I love. I am also the CEO of Drew Effect, LLC.
