Mission

Our mission is to create an original, inclusive, and extremely accessible theater environment for all who seek it. We aim to bring opportunity to up-and-coming actors, directors, writers and members of the DePaul and Lincoln Park communities.

Our Story

Soon after starting at DePaul University, founders Peter Bucci and Gabe Reiss yearned for a chance to create theatre. There weren't many opportunities for the minds that, while they did not specialize in it, loved to experiment on and off the stage. With a little planning and their mutual love of theater, they created Springboard Theater Company. Not knowing the power and depth of Springboard's reach, they soon became overwhelmed with the talent and innovation coming from their fellow community members. Fostering these skills became Springboard's focus. Moving out of DePaul after its first official year, Springboard found itself transforming non-traditional spaces (greeneries, churches, and gymnasiums to name a few) into spaces of art. 

What We Do

Springboard Theater Company acts as a playground for all who want to explore all facets the theatrical world has to offer! Our leadership and ensemble are always excited to mix up the norms and push the limits bestowed on them. Many of those who work with us find themselves in a new role they have never filled before. 

Springboard is committed to original and exciting theater experiences for thespians; new and old. We provide a home for actors, directors, writers and many more to play and create amazingly creative productions and art. Springboard has been a nomadic theater company for a few years now and this format forces our minds to be extra creative when reinventing the space we occupy. As we grow, we aim to teach and train other theatre-makers in the ways of creative theatre and how to think outside the traditions and norms of the stage.
