About the event

CRY Walk for Child Rights is an initiative organized annually by the 501c3 non-profit Child Rights & You Inc. (CRY America) as a means to raise awareness and funds in support of underprivileged children. CRY America is driven by its vision of a just world in all children develop to their full potential and realize their dreams.

Illiteracy, child labor, malnutrition, and preventable diseases are some of the injustices faced by millions of children on a daily basis. But not for long we hope! Because no matter how long or difficult the journey – if each one of us believes in doing whats right, then all children will have their right to live, learn, play and grow.

Why should you sponsor?

At CRY America, we've learned that permanent change is only possible when children, their parents and their communities are informed about their rights and engage with their local government bodies to ensure the root causes of their immediate problems are solved. We believe in the philosophy of community mobilization - empowering communities - (the immediate family, the immediate neighborhood and the village or the town) to resolve the problems affecting them.

To achieve this we partner and support grassroots Projects who work with these communities. CRY America helps these projects with financial and non financial support.

Hi,

I'm Chandni Gandhi, Action Center Leader at the CRY New York Chapter. The reason that I chose to volunteer with CRY America is because I wanted to make a difference. It’s difficult to find these opportunities where you can make a real impact and CRY America gives you that opportunity.

I am privileged to be associated with CRY and being able to contribute gives me a sense of achievement. It is the smiles on the faces of these children that keeps me going and constantly inspires me to continue serving them through CRY.
