    24-HOUR ADVENTURE CHALLENGE

    EXPLORE CACHE VALLEY AND BEYOND

    Quest for Adventure

Join us in spending 24 hours taking on fun and amazing challenges with a team of 2-6 friends/family. Each task you complete earns your team points toward winning fantastic prizes. Don't forget to use your Team Adventure Kit as you explore Cache Valley and beyond. You'll explore the outdoors, local businesses, and try new things on your quest.

    Quest for a Cure

What's more, you'll be participating in a volunteer run event benefitting the Mountain Valley Chapter of JDRF, because we believe in JDRF's vision of a world without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). With T1D, a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. The daily life of someone with T1D brings a multitude of challenges, including insulin injections that need to be carefully balanced with eating and activity, disruptive glucose monitoring, sleepless nights—and wishing for a tomorrow where this struggle doesn’t exist.
Living with T1D means there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope.

This event will highlight the amazing outdoor adventure opportunities here in Cache Valley and the surrounding areas of Norther Utah and South Eastern Idaho. With hiking & biking trails, bodies of water for kayaking and paddleboarding, camping sites in the mountains, and dozens of other local and cultural events to attend, this event will be family-friendly and appeal to the large college-age population here in Logan, Utah.

Our Presenting Sponsors will join us in celebrating at the check-in event with over 500 participants as they embark on a quest for adventure, and help us in our quest for cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

This is your opportunity to donate or sponsor a grand prize in the competition, or even provide swag in each of the Team Adventure Kits, and have your name associated with an event that not only provides fun and adventure, but is connected to a cause that reaches millions of Americans across the country. Let's see what we can do together!

    Travis N. Thurston, MET

My wife Jenny and I organized the first Crazy Pancreas 5k in Inkom, Idaho in 2011 to raise money for the Utah/Idaho Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the #1 non-profit funder of diabetes research worldwide. After 6 years of the Crazy Pancreas Race in Inkom, ID we are moving our event to Cache Valley, Utah and bringing an Adventure Race to the locals. Along with our event benefitting JDRF, we will be educating the community about Type 1 Diabetes, and the research going on to improve quality of life for those living with the disease everyday. We are very passionate about supporting JDRF in their mission to find better treatments and a cure for T1D.

On July 29, 2010 our lives changed forever when our two-year-old son Chris was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It has been nearly six years since Chris’ diagnosis, and we are still learning more each day. Chris will be insulin-dependent for the rest of his life, and in the last year alone he has endured over 2,000 fingerpicks and close to 1,300 insulin injections. In addition to his rigorous blood testing and insulin shots, everything he consumes must be weighed and measured, and his blood levels need to be checked even while he sleeps and plays. Chris continually amazes us and is a blessing to have in our lives as a daily reminder of spirit, humility, and a positive attitude. There are many devastating diseases in our world right now. However, wiping T1D out of existence is extremely attainable. It’s our mission to help our son avoid the heart and kidney disease, blindness, amputation, and early death that is a reality for many people with this disease by making Type One - Type None!
